I dont see the $70 rebate online, but Staples has it for $400 with a $40 rebate and you can PM to CompUSA which is advertising for 379 online.

I thought most of the time now, they'll tell you you're already getting it cheaper with the rebate, than the $379, so won't PM also.

This monitor is slower than the v191b ( fastest panel less than 16ms all the time, P-MVA> 16.7 million colours) !!

people still think tom is credible enough to use as their sole source of info? wow, good luck with your future endeavors in research.

Toms is the only one who goes in depth with LCD reviews. Every other site I've looked at goes by what "feels" good to them. F*** that, give me real numbers. For what it's worth, his review of the VX924 is pretty accurate. The color reproduction is horrible; everything looks washed out, and no amount of tweaking has fixed it. It's being returned tomorrow 🙁

Get yourself a VP191B then, playa. And don't forget to thanks Tom's.

I was thinking about it, but with no way to return it without eating a 15% restocking fee, it's hard to justify buying something without being able to try it out first 🙁 I may just go buy another CRT, but I am undecided at the moment. The only thing I know for sure is that while the VX924 is *pretty* good for fast paced FPS games, the color reproduction is horrible, and it still slightly blurs. Some people may not notice it, but most people are just casual players 🙁

I don't see what problems people have with Tom. I read Anandtech's rave review on the 1905fp, and it turned out to be the worst monitor I've bought. Even if Tom is bad, he can't be worse than that review.

The Review and tests were written and done by Benoît Dupont From Hardware.fr
did you try the 8ms 191b?

Anyone buy from Techonweb? Looks like you can get it for $355 shipped. Any idea what their policy is for dead pixels?

i am an extremely competitive cs:source player and i think the color reproduction is good. however it doesnt have the greatest performance in dark situations. movie ts svcd rips look awful and my roomates old ass dell crt performs better as far as pixelation in dark areas goes. I also wear glasses if that helps at all. Another thing is that I like the construction of this monitor as it looks very sleek and cool. It has a nice sturdy metal base and nice menu system. basing an lcd purchase strictly off of numbers seems kinda of juvenile, as i mainly got an lcd for space saving. I jus dont see anyone mention this in their critique of this monitor or what video card they were using.

Have you used any other LCD in dark situations and seen better results? Of course a CRT is going to be better in those regards. But I've tried a dozen LCDs and they are all lousy in very dark situations.

356 shipped @ xpcgear

http://www.xpcgear.com/vsvx924.html

for those unfamiliar with xpcgear, they're a nice outfit. used them about 8 times and never had a problem. always on time and follow through with confirming emails.

only once did i have to email them with a question and they got back to me within a couple hours.

How's this monitor compared to Hyundai L90D+? I paid as much as this monitor cost now for my old L90D+. Now my parents need a new LCD, so I'm considering a monitor that has good color quality as well as low ms.

Ahh, it seems as though this is not such a hot deal.

Think I'll wait on a big L90D+ rebate deal.

Is this a joke? This monitor is fantastic
