Don't know much about this monitor, but I believe this is an excellent deal.
Should be good for gaming, but anyone know specifics about this monitor?

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

If those specs are even close to legit, I would have sex with that monitor.

damn.. from the article on THW it seems that the measurements that the companies are advertising are getting to be less meaningful than ever. Basically it says this display is good for gaming but not good for watching movies or other video.

I'll can't wait. 😉
I am thinking about snagging one of these puppies as it is.

The different between it and an 8ms VP171B is noticeable.

I don't know WTF Tom's review was based on....I supposed that homemade device they patched together....but this monitor is unreal. Funny you don't hear people praising the wonders of their VP191B, isn't it?

But did they compare it to another LCD? We're talking worst case is 31 ms. I wonder what worse case is on a Dell 1704 FPT (12 ms rating).

A very nice 4 ms indeed 😉

Read it, man--they found out the 4 ms claim is bogus and the actual response time is 31ms...

Edit: ...Here we see that it takes nearly two frames for the curve to attain a precision of 10%, or approximately 31 ms, and not 4.5 ms.

And read every other review of the monitor places it at the top for gaming.

Tom's is a joke. Go get a 20ms Hyundai Hydis panel and be in gaming nirvana if you believe Tom's. 🙂 🙂 🙂

$382 is easily the best price I've seen
But Buy.com is not doing too well lately.

Did you read the review or just look at the number?

With its fast 4ms gray-to-gray pixel-response rate, the VX924 does exceptionally well with video playback and gaming. In our tests, we saw no streaking or ghosting during DVD playback--just full, accurate colors, good details, and only slight noise (pixel fluctuations) in solid-color backgrounds, which you would see with any LCD. Games looked simply great--full of detail and vibrant color.

The good:Attractive design; fast pixel-response rate; sleek cable-management system; clearly labeled OSM navigation.

The bad:Screen not uniform; height not adjustable; no ability to control screen settings with keyboard and mouse.

Screw it. You guys go ahead and hate on the LCD out of your price range all you want and I'll leave you to it.

Wow don't take it so personal.

All I'm saying is don't base your decision of one site....espcially one of dubious credibility in the hardware community.

i got this monitor from zipzoomfly, and its fvcking hot. i upgraded from a dell 1800fp and i love it.

can the human eye even notice say the diff from a 4ms and an 8ms? why buy this when the hyundai is brighter and higher contrast and an 8ms response time? is this supposed to appeal to the same people that buy those extreme gaming memory keys that are ultra fast or what?
