Viet Cong Vets for Kerry Refute Swiftboat Book

(2004-08-05) -- To preempt the release of a new book questioning John Forbes Kerry's account of his service in Vietnam, the Kerry-Edwards presidential campaign announced it had received the endorsement of yet another military veterans group.

Viet Cong Veterans for Kerry (VCVFK), an ad hoc group of North Vietnamese soldiers who served in the early 1970s, said their support is "payback for all Mr. Kerry did for us in his 1971 testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He almost single-handedly put an end to U.S. atrocities against innocent Viet Cong soldiers and their families."

The Viet Cong veterans' support comes at a crucial time for the Kerry-Edwards campaign, just days before the release of Unfit for Command : Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry.

"Despite what the American swiftboat veterans claim, we know that John Kerry is a true leader who lifted our morale at a time when we were concerned that we might lose the war," said an unnamed spokesman for VCVFK. "He is not a narrow nationalist who believes that America is always right. He's willing--even eager--to admit his own nation's shortcomings. This is the kind of man we need in the White House."

How about this quote:

"The US election is, as they promised, getting very dirty. Karl Rove (Bush's Svengali) is said to have predicted, "By November, they won't even know whose side he fought on." "He", of course, is John Kerry - the would-be next president of America whose Svengalis (less gifted in the black arts than Rove) chose to package him as Lieutenant John, intrepid Swift Boat skipper, acknowledging the ovation of the delegates with a military salute and a crisp "reporting for duty".

So Riprorin, did Kerry fight for the Viet Cong?

I did my research.. and said to myself, "Self, what's all this jazz about Kerry coming from all these here knowledgeable Vietnam vets all of a sudden?" In response I said. "Self, just more of the 'Bush can't beat a guy who is so much more the better than he is' and it is gonna get more insane as November comes near. You see, self, it is all about the typical way to deal with the truth and that is to find folks who'll lie and then others who'll swear to it."

Kerry was in Vietnam. Kerry was awarded the Silver and Bronze stars along with other awards. He earned them under the same process that all the rest of us did.
Now when Bushites call Kerry a fraud they call all the rest of us frauds too... To that all I can say is...

Chuck you farley, you ain't so muckin futch! Go out on you own jack porch and back off!!!

Heck, Larry Thurlow's attempt to discredit John Kerry's Bronze Star discredits Larry Thurlow's Bronze Star. Both award cite individual actions taken by both men during the same engagement to save their comrades.

Well... I don't often get upset.. but, for some reason this upsets me..
(Not to the point of saying something rash, though.. :))

What this does is puts a cloud on anything I and all the others may have done during the time I or they served there. And, I resent it.. but, being a coward I can deal with it cuz I have to... being a coward and all.

you seem to ignore the fact many who criticize kerry are VETERANS just as i am, and most of us know a poser when we see one. that is why he wont show his face here at fort hood.

komrade kerry is the one who "discredited the medals" he even pretended to THROW THEM AWAY at a protest...making a liar out of himself even then to his new leftist friends flying the NV flag. but the dumbest of the sheep still buy into his BS

i think one NCO with the 1st cav put it best "if i got a purple hurt for every scratch i got in combat like kerry, i would have about 20 of them"

another:

"if he wins i hope somebody shoots the traitor"

the simple fact is the majority of present/former military despise kerry for the backstabbing liar he is but ignorant libs ignore the voices of reason and experience to oohh and ahhh at kerry telling you what a f$$$ING hero he is for serving 4 whole months in vietnam and lying/exaggerating about what he did there...and if anything "discredits the medals" it is THAT.

Folks talk a lot different when they are out of harms way. Ever notice that? Folks getting a cut from shrapnel thank God or who ever they thank that the crap didn't do greater damage. Shrapnel flies in a randomly chosen path.

What Kerry said or did post his service in Vietnam has nothing to do with his time there. I don't care if he was there a week or a day or four months.. he was there and that says a lot about him.. Bush was where? In any event, Kerry and many folks saw the promise to end that war turn into a farce.. and, a waste of life. I am glad there were folks like Kerry to help stop the useless death.. what could we have gained there and what would it have taken to gain it.. Eliminate all the North to preserve the South?

When folks use terms like 'Komrad' they need looking at the context of Kerry's efforts. It would be like sending thousands and thousands of kids to Iraq to die when at the end of the day nothing will be gained but freedom for those who survive there.. and all the dead ... what did they gain..?

You do realize that the Vietnam issue was predicated on lie after lie. It is a patriot who'll stand up against the power of the government to expose the lies.

When someone calls Kerry a commie or says that he is not welcome at Fort Hood they say that I am not welcome either... and to that I can only laugh.. the brush is painting very wide.. and it don't seem to touch Mr. Bush... whose efforts to avoid serving in Vietnam seem to be what the current crop of Veteran laud... well.. ok.. there it is.

How lame you are Rip. If you had the slightist bit of knowledge about the Viet Nam War you'd know that the Viet Cong were South Vietnamese Irregular Guerillas, not North Vietnamsese.

(v??t´ kông) , officially Viet Nam Cong San [Vietnamese Communists], People's Liberation Armed Forces in South Vietnam. The term was originally applied by Diem's regime to Communist troops (about 10,000) left in hideouts in South Vietnam after the Geneva Conference of 1954, following the French Indochina War (1946-54). Most Communist troops, according to the agreements, had withdrawn to North Vietnam. Supported and later directed by North Vietnam, the Viet Cong first tried subversive tactics to overthrow the South Vietnamese regime, then resorted to open warfare (see Vietnam War ). They were subsequently reinforced by huge numbers of North Vietnamese troops infiltrating south, and aided in the reunification of Vietnam following the collapse of South Vietnam in 1975.

It doesn't matter.

Your original post is from a satirical website and you still don't realize that your "article" is a j-o-k-e. Literally!
