One of the biggest European retailer has just updated its website with the new Radeon R9 290.

Prices on PCComponentes are usually very accurate prior to the official announcements. R9 290 is listed for €349, this should convert into 400 US Dollars and £300.

Very low price point if true. Custom cooler versions are going to be the price/performance kings methinks.

If custom coolers come in at similar premiums as the 280Xs (think DirectCU II @ $10 over reference) I think AMD is going to have quite a few customers.

2 x 290 for $800-850 is a pretty incredible foil for the 780Ti, especially as crossfire seems to be scaling so well on Hawaii.

Don't jump the gun. Just a few hours until reviews. I'm sure TPU will test xfire, as always. One listing doesn't make it official pricing. We will see soon
 
If that is true, I am glad they stuck with the price they announced in Hawaii. AIB non-reference models will likely cost $449 then, and but be much better built. At $449, if the performance is where we think it is going to be, that is going to make it probably the best buy overall, with the AIB 780 OCs in 2nd.
 
I expected $450 to be honest, which would still be a killer deal considering how close it's supposed to be to its big brother. $400 is insane!

NDA is up tonight? I'm probably going to stick with my 7970, but the 290 non-x would probably be the card that would have my interest out of any of them (Nvidia included).
 
If this is true, 400$ is the perfect price considering that this should match the stock/reference cooled GTX 780. The 290X should also be 500$, but I guess it's too late for that ::shrug::

The cooler will still suck, but for 400$ ? It's a lot easier to overlook that shortcoming with such a great price. With the 290X at 550$, it's not quite as easy to overlook, but nonetheless. Hopefully 400$ is true, perfect price if so. Essentially 20$ or so more than 4GB GTX 770s. I don't want to jump the gun or anything but AMD finally made a good decision somewhere along the line IF THIS is true.
 
If they are coming in @ $400, then they must have a good number of salvaged chips. I say that also taking into account the scarcity of the 290X (I suppose it's possible that they are simply selling heaps of 290X cards, but I doubt it.).
 
Is that rumour about a new driver coming out with the 290 review for 290/290X with a decent performance boost credible ?
 
Nice, can't wait for the reviews. I kind of want G-sync, but if these are strong enough for the right price, I may jump.

Exactly how I feel right now...

Really hoping for some good aftermarket coolers, but I probably won't be buying until next month so I'm sure they'll be out by then.

$400 would be nice but I doubt it. Who wouldn't buy a r9 290 over a r9 280x. New card with 1gb more ram vs a rebrand for $100 more? 280x would just rot on the shelf. Maybe $429.

Uh maybe someone who can't afford $400. The 280x is still an amazing card for the money.

That's what I was thinking... plus they can't even keep the 290x in stock @ $550. I think it's gonna cost at least $450 still.

If someone can afford $300 for a computer single component then its likely they can afford $400 for much better performance. But I'm happy to be wrong as it looks like the price is $400. Good news for consumers.
 
Who in their right mind would now buy a 4GB 770 for $30 less? Just wait a month for the non-reference 290s to hit the shelves.

Isn't that more or less the case all the time though?

I don't recall ever buying a reference card.

The 780/titan cooler is a bit of an exception, but that thing is expensive, and nvidia had the profit margins to justify it.
