Dang, site won't load. But that's a good start for them if true. Not sure why they only went with $50 on the 770.

Great!

I hope this will limit AMD aftermarket prices from going too high now that the 780 is similarly priced and if aftermarket 780's and 290x's are going head to head at $560 it will get very interesting. :D

The 780 still loses by a fair margin (7-13%) so it could be slightly less, however it's the aftermarket OC ones for $10 more which will be interesting head to head with OC 290x models.

There we go! This is starting to get interesting! Now for the custom R9 290Xs and I can make a decision.

Thank you AMD....now do this on the CPU side too!

I did not expect such a drop. 499 and in-stock with lots of options.

Heh I couldnt wait a week for the 760. I'll justify my inpatience by getting 50 bucks worth of entertainment out of the 660 I bought.

Wooooooooo, price wars are back. 290 vs. 780 GTX vs. 290X, that's a difficult decision. I'm very tempted to take the plunge.

Seems like the plain 780 is the best value in my mind, if you want the games. Even then, you can sell the games off to recoup some of your money. The 780ti still seems a tad bit expensive even with the game bundle. $599 would have been really sweet imho.
I have been wanting to upgrade my 7970 this year, but want to stay around $500-$550 so that leaves very few options.

Wow, gonna be hard not jump on an AM 780 at those prices -- great time to be in the market.

There's still at least one more round of price cuts to follow this one i.e. when the 780Ti is unveiled that & perhaps sometime before the new year kicks in.

Who wants a 290x? :p

That's a great deal for the GTX 780!

$699 is still too much, even if GTX780 Ti is a tiny bit faster than Titan.
Geforce GTX780 offers a lot @ $499, sounds like a fair price. $449 is my guess for the R9 290, probably a tad slower (~5%) than GTX780 but cheaper. Price wars are back. :)

I'm not sure how aggressive AMD will be with its newly launched hardware for price drops. We might see a good gaming bundle for the holidays though. I was thinking since the 280X is ~$300, the 290 should be released at $400. Otherwise, if it is released at a $450 MSRP, $300-$450 is not a good dead zone to have.

This is personally from my perspective, but thinking about it I'd probably still go for a 290X since it's the fastest and I'm on water. Also, I don't have a lot of faith in nvidia's board design for high 24/7 overclocks (i.e., if I got a 780 it would be running at 1.3GHz+). Hmmmmm...

Not according to this leak which pegs the 290 marginally higher in performance than the 780.

Let the GPU WARS begin.:p
Glad to see NVDA has voted R9 290X a big success and are going after it.

Assuming the 780Ti is just a overclocked titan, unless nvidia has something else we don't know about, $100 price difference from the 780 better bring something nice to the table. Remember some 780 cards overclocked was faster than titan. 780Ti + $100 off G-sync monitor? :D

I called $500 for the 780 price drop. I must work at nvidia and shill for them on the side here in the forums :sneaky:

I want to see the price and performance on the vanilla R9 290 this Thursday now. I think nvidia knows something we don't if they dropped $150 off 780.

Nice find. I bet custom R9 290s @ $450-470 will be the best bang for the buck among high-cards, R9 290X-like performance for less. :)

780ti is 700$ from what i'm seeing. 100$ price difference? Am I missing something here? I see a 200$ difference, not a 100$ difference. The 780ti is going to be their new high margin high price GPU.
