"Smooth," relentless, calculating. The fat pig had his act down pat. Of course, there will still be a small minority of posters here who will focus on the woman and say she flirted back enough that it's all her fault. :(

Well, she was wearing what I like to call the "fvck me" glasses, so that's practically an invitation, right?

I wonder if Weinstein was always a monster, or, if he created it. Like, was he an average moral person, but having that power allowed him to create a world were even if someone wanted to speak up they had to risk the backlash. I would then wonder if he realized what he was creating, or if he could not care.

Or maybe he was always like this. Maybe that is what drove him to get to the top and without that monster he would have been just another loser.

I didn't watch the whole thing, but that woman was clearly flirting with him. Her closeness was inappropriate, her touching him was inappropriate. She is clearly trying to use her sexuality to get a sale. This video doesn't help this women's case.

She says "Data's so hott" and touches his shoulder. Wtf? I Think dating is a dance at times. Society expects guys to be the pursuers, so guys pursue and take steps with whatever nonverbal cues they get from the other party (touching, entering your personal space, bringing up sex, etc. etc.). And I'm sorry, she crossed the line in trying to pitch her product. I'm not saying that means she should have been raped, I am saying though that most men would haven taken her cues to mean it was appropriate to move to the next level; invite her on a date.

And I'm sorry, this guy is acting like a pig and a predator, and you decide to meet him for a late business meeting, then you follow him up to his hotel room, after you have been flirting with him? The lady worked on Wall Street and is in Sales, she's not stupid. Again, there is nothing anyone does that should lead to them being raped. But, her actions up to the point, casts a shadow of what happened in that room.

That is some weird shit how he went in for the hug immediately and was rubbing her leg while just talking to her. I know hugs/kisses are standard introductions in certain cultures, but that ain't the case in white culture.

Some people are just more touchy/feeling than others and that is cultural as well in some cases. My wife is latina and she is very touchy feely when she talks but it's not in a sexual way. The way she did a pat on his shoulder like that wasn't sexual in nature IMO, not anything like the way he was rubbing her shoulder back and forth or putting his hand up her dress.

Some of those women probably laughed at Bill Cosby's jokes, therefore it's not his fault.

Ok - but at the point he was rubbing her legs, that isn't the time to say the statement "Data is so hot" and then touch in return on the shoulder. I agree - when someone touches you on the leg and then you touch them in return - that is a non-verbal signal that you don't have issue with it. Secondly when he starts going again shortly after she just goes "that's a little high" - am I alone in thinking that is the point where you give a specific FUCK NO type of response? You know, the type where you literally shove their hand off yourself?

She was flirting. It was sexual. So after he rubbed her shoulders and puts his hand up her dress, she says data is Hott and touches him. Look it, let's be honest about this, sales in certain industries tend to hire young attractive woman. It's not a secret why.

I really believe videos like this are more harmful than helpful to the MeToo movement. Everyone has agency, When you are 28, you have agency to make wise choices, she didn't. Now, again, that does not mean that she should have been raped, but it does reflect on her credibility.

And, right on time, here we go. Some posters still don't understand the power dynamic at play here: "You flatter me and "flirt" and I may just give you this big contract."

I saw your initial post in which you tried to preemptively conflate two things. The woman's behavior was inappropriate, she attempted to use her sexuality to close a deal. That is inappropriate and I'm sure there are a lot of deals she closed by that manner that other woman who wouldn't do that didn't close! Weinstein was inappropriate as well. He used his position of power and her desire to close the deal to be touchy and sexual with her. But we should be able to call out both parties. And again, her behavior shouldn't have led to her being raped. No is always no. But she made a plethora of bad decisions that day, esp. going up the hotel room of a man who had just rubbed her shoulders and put his hand up her skirt. And for me that impacts her credibility.

Simple question. Did you watch that video and did you find her behavior appropriate?

You still don't (wish to) understand the power dynamic at play here.

So, I have a simple question for you: Many Jews worked as sondercommandos in the concentration camps, supporting their genocidal Nazi masters.

Do you find their behavior appropriate?

You can make your point without reaching back to the Holocaust. I asked you whether you believed her behavior was
appropriate.

Nevertheless, I made my effing point.

But you didn't answer my question, which was my answer to your question, and goes to the heart of this matter, which is that context is important. In the prevailing power dynamic, she had to pretend to flirt or she would never have gotten any goddamn business. But, yeah, go ahead, blindly blame her.

So, now, answer my question: Was the sondercommandos' behavior . . . appropriate?

Or was it, given the constraints of their situation, as humanly understandable as her behavior was?

I don't believe equating situations to the Holocaust is worthwhile. She did flirt. But the question becomes what level of flirtatiousness or using your sexuality to get a deal is one comfortable with. I understand the inherent power dynamics and structures involved with women in certain industries; I get it. But I'm still uncomfortable with people trading their sexuality for come ups as I am also uncomfortable with men using their Power to garner sexual favors.

You might be a disgusting pig yourself if you find nothing wrong with this video.

Wouldn't surprise me at all that those that don't see the issues with this video from the women's perspective and instead are siding with Harvey. We got a bunch of weinsteins here!

^^^ Ridiculously unbalanced "false equivalency."

Are you "still uncomfortable" with the Jews who accepted their sondercommando posts that assisted the Nazi genocide within the camps as you are "also uncomfortable" with the Nazis themselves?

Wake up and smell the power dynamic, man, from your safe seat as a white male in the business hierarchy.

QUICK! DIVERT! DIVERT!

Personal responsibility has no bearing here! She HAD to return the flirtations in order to sell. Sure, sure - absolutely sure. You couldn't possibly you know... find another customer? No no no. You know what this is? It's using sexual advances as a form of bribery. She was basically a form of sexual exploitation for monetary gain... Let me translate that for you: Basically, she was a hooker in this video.

Also - answer his question for fuck sake. And no - you haven't made a single rational point.

Lol... You should probably know who you are talking to...
I am not white and so I am quite aware of power dynamics in the business world (generally being the only black person in most business meetings). And after canvassing for Hilary Clinton as a black man in North Carolina, I am also aware that this country is more sexist than racist. Having said that I also believe everyone has their own agency. She didn't say no, she wasn't professional and she was involved in and furthered the sexual atmosphere of the meeting.

There are distinctly two issues here and you seem comfortable conflating them into one.
