OMG, that is f*cked up beyond any belief. I would love to find the a$$hole who did this and skin HIM alive... I don't think I've ever been more grossed out in my whole life and I'm a pretty thick-skinned person.

Yeahh.. I agree.
I think this video should serve as a real eye opener to everyone.
Especially for stupid ladies who run behind fur coats.

I'd buy two just to piss you off.

They just need more people like you on this planet...

Man... this is brutal..

Just imagine if someone was to tear off yoru nails (forget skin) from your body, how painful it would be.

It is for this very reason, i am a vegetarian. Thank god.

Vegetarianism based on the eradication of suffering of animals is usually misguided and shortsighted. Quote, from a website: "every year millions of animals are killed by wheat and soy bean combines during harvesting season ".

Sources:
TIME Magazine, July 15 2002, Pg. 56

Steven Davis, professor of animal science at Oregon State University (at least one study has shown that simply mowing an alfalfa field caused a 50% reduction in the gray-tailed vole population):

Not only that, we eat the meat we raise to for feed. With soy products that most vegetarians advocate/eat, you have thousands if not tens of thousands of animals every year rotting on the ground thanks to the vegan habit.

Whatever, I prefer not to go into length on this. But vegetarianism rules for health :).

I agree 100%. The part I watched before turning it off was absolutely sickening. I think a lot of what PETA says and the way they say it are often extreme but this is a perfect example of why I'm not one of the PETA hating morons who bash them regardless of the issue.

Human > Animal. Don't equate them as being the same thing.

No one gets the death penalty for torturing an animal.

When you buy a leather jacket or a fur coat, it's not usually like this...this must be one case out of how many? You know, they have regulations for these kinds of things. That looks like it was done in the middle of nowhere in some desert in the middle east.

I'm probably not exagerating when I say that a person capable of skinning an animal alive wouldn't think twice before killing a human. I wouldn't be able to do that even if you paid me a million dollars. It's just unatural to impose that much suffering on another living creature.

i think you need a refresher on biology... humans are a subset of animals.

That's your opinion and you are entitled to it. IMO people who do things like that shouldn't be considered human.

Well, not really a repost, but PETA jacked those clips from another video (I think). The original thread can be found by searching fur.

By searching fur what?

AHAHAHAHA!

But this is in another country, and this practice could be well within their customs and traditions. Who are we to judge them? Cultural relativism tells us that no one country is "better" than another, just different. Thus we cannot force our own customs upon them.

At least that's what certain people would have you believe.

That video was pretty horrible. The only thing worse then that video is the thought process behind being a vegetarian.

I am in no way a fan of PETA, but that video is unbelievable inhumane. Obviously much more humane ways of skinning an animal are possible. It is almost like they were doing it just to be cruel. I couldn't watch the whole thing... I had to shut it off when the animal was laying on the ground, looking over its newly "furless" body in obvious pain. That was horrible.

While I still don't favor PETA, I would like to beat the crap out of the guys doing that skinning.

Same here. My dog is sitting in my lap right now and I couldn't watch anymore after he slammed that thing on the ground

Believe me, it gets 200000% worse after that part.

how are cows humanely slaughtered ? I've never really found out...

That's no lie...I have a really thick skin, but even this disturbed me. In all honesty, I may not look at fur coats the same after seeing that, but by no means will I throw paint, or spit on those who wear them. I won't try to ban the trade, but for at least a while, I will think of that post when I see a fur coat.

It wasn't just a furless body... it was a skinless one and that HAD to be excruciating... if the animal was even aware of its surroundings any longer.

I really don't understand why throats weren't slit. The ONLY reason I can see for this method is for PETA to try to bolster support for themselves. If an animal is moving around as some were, it only makes it harder on the person skinning it and more likely that they could slice open their own hand/arm/fingers.

What are the chances that PETA actually did this video for shock value and that people DON'T actually skin this way?

They don't slit the throats because it not only damages the coat, but it also bleeds all over it. They are trying to presever the animals coat for resale value. Given there are better ways to slaughter an animal that are more humane, most of these traders are poor and uneducated and have been doing it their own way for years.

I wouldn't doubt that Peta had something to do with this video, or the others they publish, they are a suspicious group.

I've seen the clip before. I grew up in a country town and we ate rabbits and the like and people who didn't grow up in the country criticizes for it. I don't know if its such a big deal.
