I just upgraded my video card and I am disappointed. After reading multiple positive reviews about the video card, I went and bought it. Please help me see what is casuing the problem.
My setup:
CPU: AMD FX-8350 @ 4.2 Ghz
RAM: DDR3-2133 16GB 2 sticks
MB: ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0
VIDEO CARD: ASUS R9290X-DC2OC-4GD5
SOUND CARD ASUS Xonar D2X
PSU: Corsair HX750
TV TUNER: ATI AMD TV Wonder HD 600 PCIE
7 HDDs and 1 Blu-ray drive
4 case fans, 2 front, 2 rear(push and pull)
The problem:
My video card reaches 94C even when the fan is set to 100%. I have made sure the BIOS is set to the performance one.
Test 1 Furmark:
Test 2 Litecoin mining:
Test 3 OCCT:
This is the worst of all, system crashed.
All tests are done when the ambient temperature is 21C.
I tried moving my hands around the video card, there seems not much hot air coming out of it. I touched the heat pipes and they are very hot. There is little air coming out of the back vent of the card(outside the case).
Here is a picture of my rig if it helps.
Is the airflow in my case not enough? Or is the card defective?
Thanks in advance
