Vid Games Weapons: Whats..

Sweetest: Shrink/Expansion Ray Duke3D
Most Useless: Handgun in almost all Quake/Doom versions.
Cutest: Baby Nukem, U4E Mod for UT
 
Any online PC games that are free to download and free to play online? Haven't played an FPS in a while and don't have XBox Live any more.

What I hate is that unless you wack someone before they get a decent weapon, there is no other way to get the second gun... they don't spawn. :|

Favorite: Was the Y2K rifle from Fallout 2, but then I realized that the Gauss Rifle, while less powerful, doesn't have problems like energy resistance from enemies. Shooting people in the eyes from a distance for massive criticals FTW. ETA: Uh, now that I think about it, it's really Pale Justice from Icewind Dale; a powerful sword with a really cool backstory. Due to it's backstory, it doesn't show up as magical and it's sort of hidden in Dorne's Deep, but it rocks.

Most Useful: the Shiv - Chronicles of Riddick. It does better damage than your fists, and can be used to back-stab people in the spine... which is good, because for about half the game you really don't have access to "real" weapons

Most Powerful: the nuke from Red Alert/Red Alert 2

Worst Weapon: The Vampires Sword - Baldur's Gate. It sets your intelligence to 3 and it actually heals enemies when you hit them. Oh, and it's cursed so you need a Remove Curse spell to get rid of it.

Misc: the Plated Boxing Gloves from Fallout 2. Really useless outside of the boxing ring, but gives you a couple of extra points of damage per hit. Regardless, I try to do called shots to the groin anyway, then followup with called shots to the eyes when they're down. You can't get disqualified for hitting below the belt, but you WILL get disqualified to punching without the gloves or doing kicks.
 
Favorite weapon is the lightning gun from quake4.
Nothing is more satisfying than using that gun when you have a 10" subwoofer cranked up.

Most useful, I'd say the M60 from farcry. I love just running around the stage recklessly, mowing down anyone who comes into my sight. Yes, and in addition to the deep machine gun sound from the sub.

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. I've also heard of Tribes, an older game. America's Army if you don't mind realism.

Toss up between that and the Rail Gun which could see through walls. Those were some great DM kills.

Even though it was more of a risk, I usually preferred running in front of the guards, grabbing their guns, and killing them with it than the backstab😀

In terms of all-around overpoweredness, the pistol from Halo deserves a mention, because it does a massive amount of damage, has zoom, and is accurate enough to snipe with. Couple that with a fast melee (and Halo has about the best melee of any game), and it's awesome. Shotgun's pretty good too..I was unbeatable on the smaller maps with the shotty.

 
Has anyone else noticed that every weapon in Doom III sucked in some way.

1. Pistol - slow, weak, low capacity
2. Shotgut - best weapon of the game but it had a short range and a spread wider than Paris Hilton
3. Machine Gun - fast but weak
4. Chain Gun - great but it takes so much time to spin up and fire that something always nails you first
5. Plasma Gun - shots are low velocity you have to lead the target
6. Rockey launcher - it's ok low capacity
7. BFG - Explodes if you charge it too long

1) yeah it sucks, it's the pistol
2) ROFL, it was still useful though
3) yeah, handy for spiders
4) i thought the chaingun was badass.. gotta prefire, ya know 😉
5) you need to learn to aim
6) it's the RL, is it supposed to be belt fed?
7) yeah, getting the timing is tricky for a little while
 
FFVII Knights of the Round materia + Mimick materia on all party members + the one that casts revive on self after a death blow.

The Masamune Sword (I believe you could dual wield them in Chrono Cross, or what the Einlanzer or something like that?)

Actually, I'm pretty bad with all weapons so I don't play online. I'm nothing but a moving target (when I remember to move at all).

I'm kind of partial to a rocket launcher because you can get lucky with it, but I tend to use it in small rooms too much so I've fragged myself as much as I have the enemies. Might as well strap on a suicide bomber vest.
 
fully upgraded sniper rifle from Deus Ex on max skills. silenced, one shot kill *anything*: the most powerful enemies, cameras, alarms etc. just uber
 
the original UT's Impact Hammer was very satisfying to use.

i also like the parrot bomb in serious sam 2.

most underrated gun: the needler from Halo
 
the golden shower head in dead rising


thats an awesome weapon...... run up to a zombie, and he stabs it right through the top of their heads, blood then starts to flow out of the shower head lol! the zombie walks round for abit showering blood, then drops dead lol.

and on that game....the excavator is another fantastic weapon


infact dead rising has tons of creative ways to kill zombies
