APAP is bad for you, but I seriously doubt the OP is imbibing 3-4 grams of it.
OP, you should call whomever did your surgery and explain your pain. At the very least they could bump up your medicine. However, with today's rate of abuse they will probably tell you to rotate another non-narcotic analgesic like ibuprofen or asprin with your pain meds.
