The best part of it all was that he signed a 10-year contract for $130M with a $37M signing bonus, one of the highest paid players ever and still does this.

He had far more money from throwing a ball around then we will ever see, and yet he still gets involved in this kind of activity. F'ing hilarious.

Evidently you can take him out of the housing projects but you can't take the housing projects out of him.

Killing innocent plants isn't, either.

plants don't have a central nervous system. besides, plants definitely do want us to eat them. take fruits for example.

I don't understand the method of killing. Why not put them down with a bullet to the brain? As for the killing of the dogs, maybe I'm too de-sensitized, but I don't really care. I can't get really worked up about animals. He just seems a little twisted in the way he went about it.

Yeah, he likely has to "put in work" and shiv some guy to keep his street rep now. Especially after his own crew "snitched" on him

The ironic thing is that pit bulls only exist because of dog fighting. Pit bulls were bred for dog fighting. Not that I condone the act, but it is kind of weird that it is illegal use an animal for the very act for which it was created.

I have a World War II Japanese sword in my garage. Should it be legal for me to kill a few people with it, since that's what it was created for?

Dude, I just find it interesting that this animal was created for this very brutal act by Englishmen & ghetto blacks continue to practice it underground. Hell, I think pit bulls shouldn't be allowed in urban areas. That's why I said I don't condone it.

I didn't think you would condone such a thing. My point was merely that there's nothing weird at all about it now being illegal. Here's another one: it's now illegal to ride a horse on the road in many areas, particularly highways. But, originally, the main purpose of horses was transportation.

Well, yeah, but people still ride horses :p It's still legal to use them, but it just isn't legal in certain areas. Also, regarding your comment about the Japanese sword, people still use the swords for sparring & drills. Pit bulls are in a rare situation of their entire reason for their existence, brutal dog fighting, is illegal.

He killed his dogs by drowning and hanging.
Holding a dog under water to drown it, is sick.
Same for hanging.

He will never play ball again.
At this point the only way I can see him even having a life is if he started some anti-dog fighting organization, saying he learned the error of his ways, etc.

I doubt it. The league is trying to clean up its image, and granting special exceptions to the salary cap for players lost due to non-football-related issues seems counterproductive to that goal. This will serve as a lesson to the rest of the league about being very careful when you dedicate that much cap space to a single player.

The Falcons are hurting at QB right now. Harrington as a starter with Chris Redmond as the backup...after being out of football for two years? They lost their third-string QB for the year in the preseason game on Friday night.

Hey, Trent Dilfer has won a championship, so the Falcons might be able to pry him from the 9ers for the right price! :D

Yep, no way would he be able to win in court with so many of his friends testifying against him. He should have hired the same attorney for all of them and kept them in the fold from the start if he were going to fight it.

About time. I wonder when he'll start serving his time. I assume he's done with football atleast untill 2009. I doubt any NFL team will want him after that.

Hopefully the Falcons can recoup some of the money. What a waste.

It's still a drawn out process. Vick will enter his plea today in court. The judge will then set another date for sentencing. Could be another month or two.

The best that the Falcons can hope for is a crappy season that results in a high enough draft pick to get a hopefully healthy Brian Brohm out of Louisville.

Falcons traded their good backup QB - Matt Schaub. Granted they didn't know about Vick, but they had someone in place and let him go. It's the nature of the business.

Titans lost Pacman jones for the season. Do they deserve a special exception? What about the Bungles losing their WR? I can't see the NFL doing anything about it. It wouldn't be fair to the other teams.

cause we actually use them after they are killed... not that difficult to understand.

We'd like to think that as a civilization, we've grown past the barbaric stage. Torturing animals for our amusement is so 1600's.

My dog is a Rhodesian Ridgeback who's sole purpose was to herd lions away from villages and camps in Africa. I don't see my dog doing that on a daily basis any more.

Don't teams put anything in the contract so that they can void it if the player is convicted of a felony charge? It certainly seems like it would be a good addition in this day and age.

Does anyone have a link to the 18 page deposition that is floating around? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
