i have hd 7950 results while oc'd and @ stock using 3d mark 11 its pretty awesome. @ stock she achieves (under preformance) with a 2500k p6139 which is about 12-12.5% better than most 570 or 6970 results. meanwhile if you crank up the clocks to 1030core/5600mem watch your 3dmark11 hop to p7228 putting it near the 7970's stock 3dmark 11 preformance result
if this is true fermi better be scared.. that means the 580 just got taken to the counter spike.

can you tell us anything about the price? also, can it OC further, or is that the limit?

I bet that is all that CCC will let it clock but considering all 7950 models will be non ref designs I would not be surprised to see some of these hit clocks decently higher then that. I think its supposed to launch around $450 but who knows.

y all non reference? Is this to make it hard to unlock?

Granted, my overclock is high on my 6950 in this run (1000/1525), but my 3dmark11 run beats this 7950 at stock clocks. Is their 2500K at stock clock or something?

Looks like if I upgrade, 7970 is more worthwhile.

No your comparing what will be out Jan 31 with what will also be available Jan 31. The kepler vs tahiti argument is pointless until you have a kepler in your rig.

It's interesting performance, but there's a lot of unknown factors still. Exact price and just how much it can overclock over that, and how it is to do so will be crucial for this card. Also, is it known which card exactly this is?

The OP made the Fermi comparison. And firstly I don't read Chinese, I don't know if the OP does natively ? But myself ? I have no idea if this is a Chinese forum or tech new's site etc. That's up to the OP to make clear on a English forum. I also don't know if those are the OP's words in the context or if he is quoting someone from that Chinese site.

Fermi was already obsoleted with the 7970 launch. Well, at least the GTX580 was. But AMD won't be competing with the GTX5xx forever.

Considering there is currently only one out of stock $550 option it's a bit too soon to call it for Fermi, however last gen vs next gen is always like this.

Also seems fake, I get almost 7k with a single 470 on an i5-2500k unless their i5 was at stock... I'd rather see the actual graphics score, but I'm sure we will soon enough.

Edit: Actual graphics scores were 6518 @ stock, and 8295 overclocked which isn't bad at all. An overclocked 470 on water is going to be about equal to this at stock.

I think if you look at my quote you will see what I'm talking about, nothing to do with OP. Another poster said that it is pointless to compare fermi to tahiti and I made the argument that it is not pointless because those are the current available offerings from both companies.

No cause once Kepler comes out they'll be talking about 8 series being the savior of all AMD.

And if it isn't faster, they'll talk about performance per watt and price vs performance.

The key to victory is changing the conditions to suit your needs.

well kepler = ? what you expect me to do compare it instead to an aircraft??

Smart man. That Canadian education paying off. I know there is Canada\ATI pride there but please....use common sense.

Chloros, I've received complaints about your antics in this thread.

I'd suggest that you start acting more civil towards your fellow forum members. Thanks.
