Ok, I don't know alot about SATA, so I am curious about something... I currently have a Abit NF7-S r2 mobo. Right now I am running two IDE HDD's on channel 1 and two optical (CDRW and DVD) on channel 2, is it possible to run all four of these items as well as a SATA hard drive on sata 1? I was not sure if the serial ports used up the same channel as IDE 1.
IF this is the case and I can either choose to run SATA or IDE 1, then can I used the IDE to SATA adaptor that came with my mobo and run my 40gb (windows drive) with the adaptor in sata 1 and run the new SATA drive (160GB) in sata 2? This would work as well as I wanted to move my other ide drive to a server anyway.
A third simple question... I know that windews has problems with drives above something like 137 GB, will it have any issues with a 160GB (not partitioned) attached to my sata?
Thanks for the help, all these are pretty simple questions but they are things I have no experience with
