It's not REALLY that big of a deal is it? Fingerprints aren't hard to get off. I could see you being pissed if there were scratches or something, but you sound more like a baby than anything else.

No...sorry man. I am no baby....im not a pussy like you. I guess in your case you would let a business ass rape you and send you on your way....

Yep. Touching a disc really makes me feel like I've been raped.

I don't think these words mean what you think they mean.

Forget it....not going to argue what's right and what's wrong here. GameStop is shaddy and I will never purchase from them again...

Good. I hope you don't purchase from them again.

You just make scenes. 0.o

Yeah, I noticed that's how GameStop does things. It surprised me the first time I bought some "new" PSP movies there. I was surprised when I went to the counter with the UMD cases and then see them go to the counter and pull out a UMD disk from an envelope and put it into the case (I didn't notice that the UMD case's sticker had already been slit open).

I figured GameStop must have a shop-lifting problem and that's why they do things like that.

You should have just calmy explained that you don't like the policy and then calmly get a refund before buying from Blockbuster. People who throw temper tantrums in public, no matter hot they are from bike riding, end up looking immature and ridiculous. Take a deep breath and handle things rationally. You'd be amazed how less stressful life is with this approach.

I don't see how some people think this is ok. Gamestop makes so much money they should be able to afford some dummy cases to put out.

They can sell an open game (and most of the time, PLAYED game, the workers can take them home and use them) as new. But if I go there and buy a game, and open it, but dont play it, and change my mind, they sure as hell won't let me return it as new, now will they?

Gamestop sucks total ass

I should start selling my used games as new since you know they don't have scratches nor shrink wrap. There seems to be a huge customer base here for used/opened as new for new price.

I mean hey don't be a pussy, buy my perfect condition opened game for $60 bucks! Any takers I got Halo 3 $60, GTA4 $60 and Lost Od $60 . There are no finger prints and they have never been used... you can't prove me wrong amirite?

Anyone?!?!

I would have taken the copy to the back, sealed it, and then given it to you.

And this is legal?

Remind me never to shop or do business with you.

What law are they breaking? You do know when you buy a new car someone has already driven it before you.

So true.

Next time I get a car I'm going to flip out on the dealer if it has 3 miles on it! FLIP OUT!

This has happened to me before. Apparently they do it ALL THE TIME and contacting corporate, they don't give a rat's ass. That's why I don't shop there anymore.

And yes, Blockbuster is the best IMO. I have one close to my house, and all the employees are nice, and they always have new games in stock, etc.

Hell I agree with the OP. If I lay down $60 on a game I should be given the courtesy of opening my own damn game.

x2

Thank you! I swear....some people here are just here to bust your chops!

You think we have anything better to do? Gotta get through the workday somehow...sheesh.

Actually, you can return it still. They make a note of it on your receipt or in their records that your game is new and you have like 30 days to get a full refund.

While I don't know the legality of resealing an open copy and selling as new, it still is a shady practice. I mean it's opened and there's always a possibility that something has happened to it (ie taken home and used and brought back).

A new game should still be sealed when you purchase it.

I was wondering who makes people shop at Gamestop?
Is it store policy that once you walk in you must buy something, or you'll be arrested?
I don't understand the whole "a store did something I didn't like, but I went along with it anyway, then got mad when my brain actually kicked in."

People from CAG say this happens sometimes. (one guy used to work at Gamestop and confirmed this)

If you paid for a new game. It should come sealed/UNopened. 😀
If it is opened how is it new?

Now yelling and causing a scene sucks ass.
But sometimes it needs to be done.

Also how do we know that the game never has been tested?
It could have been played by the employees in the PS3 at the store after hours or before house. No one knows right?

Plain and simple fact. If you bought a new game. It should come wrapped or have the security sticker left intact.

There is a difference between him selling his mint condition games as new and flipping out in public in front a shit load of people. What you are failing to realize here is that those in this thread who are arguing against you are not doing it so much because they agree with the business practice. They are doing it because of how you reacted in public towards that business practice. Hell, I have managed to teach my kid by the age of 3 not to throw tantrums in public like that. Surely you can do the same.

I'm pretty sure you meant unopened right?

Did I mention I had two people thank me for informing them that GameStop did that?
