where do you some of you guys live that you are allowed to returned open games? I see plenty of people mention they'd buy a game then return it 15-20 minutes later when it turns out the game is crap.

But I don't shop at gamestop anymore. I did years before when they had a location outside of the mall. But if you opened game that's brand new you couldn't get a refund. It is an exchange only for the same title. No store credit or anything. Its the same for every other store, CC, Best buy Frys, costco, target etc.

I used to work at GameStop. This is normal practice. If you had been yelling at me while I was working over something so fucking pathetic and stupid, I would have called the cops on your ass. You sound like the typical worst customer ever.

When you return an opened game to gamestop, they take it in the back, put it through the shrinkwrap machine, and sell it as new.

Paranoid much? No they don't. The only thing we shrink wrap were used games we had too many copies of.

Kid...stfu..

rofl, you go ballistic on a minimum wage worker at a GameStop because your precious game doesn't have plastic wrap on it. Then you're a big enough of a dick to GO BACK and yell at the girl again! And I'm the kid.

I went back to get my money back...

They did that to me with MP3. I was pretty upset, but wanted to play the game so bad on release day.

What a weak rant. Were there scratches on the disk? If not then you really need to chill the fuck out. These days, I hesitate that my sealed games will come with a scratched disk for crying out loud. Remember the Halo 3 disaster?

I just hope you don't work with people, this thread has really shown your maturity level... Do you get mad if someone has opened the box of silverware from the store before you bought it?

And who says "mula"?

I agree with the point OP is trying to make, maybe just not with the whiney attitude he used. However, the practice done by gamestop is retarded (not illegal) and I too would be upset to get an opened copy like that. I mean, sure they say it's new, never used, and it very well may be.....but at the same time, you just don't know what's happened to or who's tampered with the game.

One time I called one of my local gamestops to see if they had any copies of FF: Tactics PSP and they did, 1 left.

I go down there and ask about the copy and they go over to the PSP shelf and pull off the box/case there. Then they went back to the counter and opened up a drawer to pull teh game out. They insisted on it being brand new.

Anyway, before they handed me the game, they put a clear circle sticker seal on the case to make it look more "sealed/new" .... again

I take the game, go home and try to remove that clear sticker. WTF...it doens't just peel off easily and completely. Nope, it ripped and you had to pick at it with your nails. It left a lot of sticky sh!t that I had to clean up and it damaged the case. I vowed never to buy a game from them again unless it is used or just a super awesome deal.

True story.

No one prefers that practice, but it really isn't Gamestop's fault. They need to put up empty cases of those games and they cannot buy the cases unsealed and empty so they really are left with no choice. In regards to the sticker business, that is kind of stupid. I don't know why they insist on doing that if they do not come off easy.

Hell I agree with the OP. If I lay down $60 on a game I should be given the courtesy of opening my own damn game.

You can still get that even in the OP's case. The difference is that you would have had to wait for more copies to come in. Pick your poison or buy elsewhere.

It's not REALLY that big of a deal is it? Fingerprints aren't hard to get off. I could see you being pissed if there were scratches or something, but you sound more like a baby than anything else.

Only a pussy would think that was a threat, and you have certainly demonstrated that you are a pussy with you actions over a GAME.

recently bought a new game at gamestop (odin's sphere for 20 bucks), when i gave the clerk the case he went into a drawer and got the disc, put it into the case, then sealed it with a sticker. i was fairly disappointed with this approach, but for a 20 buck game wasn't going to complain. for something just released, i may have had more to say.

So standing up for what's right makes me a pussy?

$60 or $60000, it should not matter.

This is how our local gamestop works too. Quit being a whiner and buy your games somewhere else if you dont like it. Wah Wah wah.
