Verizon increases SMS Rates

Doesn't hurt me in the least. My cell phone is to *gasp* talk to others. Not sit around and type on some dinky ass keypad. If I want to send someone a text message I will send an e-mail.

What a ripoff..... but then again it doesn't affect me because I don't use text messaging. I must be getting old or something, but to me text messaging is a waste of time. I can either talk on the phone or use email or something, but typing on some tiny little pad with cryptic short messages is not my thing.

I get 300 text messages for $5 so it doesn't affect me at all. I did, however, go over my limit and I called VZW CSR and had a long chat about the flaw in the text messaging system. Essentially, you pay a fee for every text message that you receive if you didn't sign up for a flat rate plan. I asked them why we don't have the option to reject text messages and what happens if someone doesn't like us and bombards us with text messages and the CSR's solution was to change phone numbers. WTF! I said that that was a flaw in the text messaging system [from a customer's POV] and he went on and on about how that's not a flaw in the system.
