Pretty much. iOS simply works better out of the box. Nerds might think it's cool to hack and waste time tinkering with trivial stuff but most people want things to simply work.

Just because something might be slightly laggier compared to iOS doesn't mean it doesn't work and the people have spoken that there's more than enough room for all of them in the mobile segment.

I wonder if the resale value of used CDMA iPhone4 will be much as the GSM one. Will people in other countries using CDMA be able to use it?

I will likely switch to AT&T once my contract with T-mobile is up so the more AT&T iPhone people that move to Verizon the better.

Absolutely not.
iPhones have such a high resale value is once you unlock it, you can use it for t-mobile and most foreign countries.
There are alot of countries that uses GSM but Apple do not sell their products there so iPhones carry a hugh premium.
I go back to Vietnam alot and iPhones are a big status symbol.
I sold a guy a 3GS and he said someone from Russia was bringing back with her cause the 3GS are like double in price.

You can't do anything with a 2nd market CDMA iphone except to sell it to other Verizon customers.
I don't know if you can use it with other countries with CDMA but you definately can't use it Sprint.
