I just saw it and it was stupider than I thought it would be. Nothing really made much sense unless you just went with it. The moment you asked "how does that work.. " it completely falls apart. There were so many gaps in the plot that I thought that the people watching it deserved a writer's credit, as you'd have to fill in a lot of the blanks yourself. I love Marvel.. I love comic movies for the most part.. this was a straight B movie level of SyFy with a budget and a Marvel IP.

The only really funny part to me was the "Tell her you're sorry" thing. Not because of any joke.. but because it was so over the top stupid that I couldn't help myself but laugh at the movie at that point.

The only superhero movie I saw last year was WW and I am happy that I did, I likely going to watch IW for the sake of it, after that it will be WWII when it come.
Yea, my favorite "superhero" movie. Although in a way I dont really consider it a super hero movie, but more of a "coming of age" movie as WW learns about her powers and the would outside of her own. I am excited for WWII as well, but am afraid it will have a hard time living up to the first one.

Back on topic, I really like Tom Hardy, but am in no rush to see Venom.

This was Sony, Marvel had nothing to do with it, btw.

I'm not surprised this movie is getting poorly received, it looked REALLY bad from all of the trailers, and the over saturation of comic book movies doesn't help either.

I'm aware.. I'm not sure Marvel could produce a shit hill this bad. It's one of the reasons why I hated it so much, it's a Marvel IP. They have literal blueprints they could use to make a story that works... even with the changes.

Kind of like how...

Eddie was able to sneak around a highly secure facility with no cameras or anything like that catching him?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw that. I mentioned it to a buddy this morning who says he liked he and he said he missed that. I thought that whole scene was pretty funny. The fact that the only security was a check point on the drive in where you just flash a badge, no stops, no questions, no search.. no nothing. I also thought it was funny in the odd sense that she answered the one lone security guard's question on what she was doing there (somehow he missed Eddie running through the door) and yet somehow she was still talking to him (about what I have no idea) while Eddie was wandering around the lab. Not like he questioned her answer or anything... Hell, it took a day or so for the guards to sort out Eddie got in the same time as she was opening the door. Feels like something the logs would show.. and people would look at quickly.. also, how did the security guards keep up with Eddie when he was running through the woods? They looked to be walking after him shooting, not running at his accelerated speed. I would have thought there were a ton of guards in the woods, but it was the same actors.... this is the issue with this movie.. the moment you ask one what? it spirals out of control in a endless wtf quetions.. sigh

Awkward side note... for a few minutes, I thought the female doctor's name was Dr. Skirt. I was thinking, "Um... did someone somewhere think that was a smart idea?", but then I finally heard the 'h' in Skirth. :p

I wondered if she was really a doctor or an assistant.

My girl asked what movie i wanted to see. So i mentioned venom last night and she said ok : "I will just cuddle up to you when it gets scary". Of course, this morning i told her i was not serious and i would rather see a nice romantic movie, action or comedy. It will be a romantic comedy i guess. Still will be cuddling up though.
I will see venom at home. Sony spiderman is also a bit of a let down.
