Kinda related... just ordered a BP from monarch (retail) gonna give it a whirl see how it does and if it sucks I'll probably buy one of these just to see how it'll do.

Ok, I'm going to edit this.
I'm running at 2207 on stock voltage now.
HT at 4x245, mem at 200. Prime95 is stable.
I'll stick with this for a while before bumping up anymore.

bump for my results. I went pci-e and got the dfi Ultra D refyrb from newegg. I think the results speak for themselves...
2.7ghz overclock. It failed prime after two minutes though. also this was my first overclock with this board, i dived right in. Once I get my other parts, I will reformat and do this the right way. I just wanted to update you guys. Ill keep you updated with my final oc.

Just a heads up. the price dropped to 113 I think on ewiz but no more free shipping. I think shipping was like 7 bucks then Tax for us CA folks. the BP is like 117 I think too so it went down a little bit as well.

Any thoughts on a refurb from newegg? I was thinking of going that route, being there are selling them very cheap, I am just afraid of getting burned on it. I know some people say just RMA it til you geta good one. ANy thoughts?

I jumped up too, and I'm actually surprised it's held up so far.
Currently I'm at 2506, and I've been stepping it up slowly today. I have some corsair value select, and I think I'll need to use another divider if I go much further.
ht: 4x279 mem: 228
I set up auto voltage in my bios, and cbi has been showing it steady at 1.472.
Load temp is 37c, no errors in prime95 yet.

Thats good. I am hoping to get the same. What is your setup?

I using an a8n-e with 2x512's of those cheap corsair vs's.
The x700 pro I got ended up going 500 core, 470 mem. I'm pretty happy with it all so far, for a sub-$500 box.

The board was good, but the refurb x800xl videocard that I got was missing a capacitor. You win some and you lose some but most of the time I order a refurb, it works well and more than half of the time it comes with accessories. Its was a risk that I was willing to take, but after the video card incident, I will try and stick to new products. I dont want push my luck.

Also, 2.7ghz was stable, but only with 1.65 voltage. Even then though, the temps never got above 49c but that was too much for. I am currently at 2.6ghz stable, much lower temps/voltage.

i just got my e6 3000+ today and will be getting the rest of my parts tomorrow so i'll have some results to post hopefully by the weekend. i got it off ewiz $135 after shipping and gay tax still a better deal than other places.

oh, my stepping is:
LBBWE 0530CPFW

I got my BW last week, I have been tweaking to get it 2745Mhz, it was stable for everything except 3Dmark03 & 05 so reduced to 2682 @1.675and stable for prime95 for at least 3.5 hours.

did you get it from E-WIZ?

After reading this thread for a while, I decided to bite on a "BW" from Ewiz. I got a MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum refurb from Newegg for $65 shipped. I also got Thermaltake Venus 12 to mount on that 3000+. I stuck with AGP so I could use my refurb x800 PE with it.

You should have bought DFI LanParty ULTRA D for $80 from newegg refurbished. Which you could have moded to SLI, or you could get $95 MSI NEO4 PLatinum SLI. Why did you bought NEO2 for $65.
Only $15 more would have gave you more options like SLI, great overclocking options & SLI Chipset, with some nice onboard sounds.

Why would he buy an Ultra D or Neo4? Did you not read his post? He has an AGP card that is more than enough to handle every game out right now. He has NO REASON to go PCI-e. He can't SLI an AGP card, the overclocking on the NF3 is just as good as the NF4, and the sound on both sucks equally.
