Is there even the slightest indication of the government (all Manduro allies) and military leaders would follow US dictates? How would it even work?
from what i've seen - new president is a staunch socialist who's parent's where murdered by the previous regime and has been Maduro's #2 for a long time

Whats hilarious is that depite Trumps appeal to them, big US oil companies are not that keen in re-investing in VZ or refurbishing its decrepit oil infrastructure to increase production. The oil market is just too depressed and the political instability in VZ is just too big a risk for them. Too much downside for too little upside. Trumps little adventure looks like it will be an embarassing fiasco.

Trump administration asking US oil industry to return to Venezuela — but getting no takers

Reports are that VP Rodriguez, with the backing of the VZ military, back channeled to the Trump admin through the UAE that they would be more receptive to US requests and would not seriously oppose Maduro's abduction. She more or less outsourced her coup to the United States. Now Trump going on TV and saying that we own Venezuela was almost certainly NOT part of whatever the regime understood to be the deal (welcome to deals with Trump lady). If they are perceived to be a puppet then their rule could implode as there are other factions in play, hence the public denouciations that are happening.

He deserves an indictment from The Hague like his mentor Putin rather than that Peace Prize he's so fixated on. He's piling up potential charges against himself the likes of which our historical records will look like a hefty grocery shopping list of crimes against humanity, against our laws, against Our Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc.
Yes he deserves to be held accountable. The best thing for the world is a quick and sudden death. Okay he can stay on life support. Dragging out the process does absolutely nothing. And hoping he lives with the embarrassment is fruitless. We have to be done with him ASAP

We are now in the "Golden Age of WTF!

So, he told the oil companies about this but not Congress? They could not get congressional approval because they didn’t want information leaked?…. But they briefed the New York Times, the New York Post and let oil companies know ….Oh and some unknown person who made 400k on a poly market bet. Why would Trump have to inform Oil Companies about a drug raid? Weird. Trump talks to big oil before the American people.

Rubio: This was a Law Enforcement action. Congress doesn't have to be informed.

Trump: If they don't let us have the Oil we will unleash another military strike.

Rubio looked like he dropped a load in his pants when Trump told everyone he'd be running Venezuela.

I guess all those oil fields will greet us as liberators then? ... Just how are American oil companies going to "guard" those oil fields? Oil companies aren't going into Venezuela anytime soon. There is a strong possibility that Venezuela could be in chaos for years to come. Oil companies wouldn't take that sort of risk until they’re sure Venezuela is going to be stable. It is bad investment. Oil Companies were informed, but not Congress because Oil Companies speak for the people not their elected Representatives. Trump has moved America to the Russian Oligarch method of governing. Trump solicited money from oil companies for his campaign and ballroom type projects, hoping they pay to play. Oil is slippery and ill-gotten gains easily slip from one's fingers.

Who thinks the oil companies here in the U.S. will invest $100 billion plus to update their oil fields? The U.S. taxpayers will instead. I thought Oil is already ludicrously oversupplied globally? The Saudis and OPEC have destroyed global oil prices intentionally. none of what we are doing makes sense economically, diplomatically or morally. If cheap Venezuelan oil floods the market the US oil which is very expensive to produce will not be wanted or needed. Texas economy will suffer. Trump is a moron. The Trump Crime Syndicate can't even run America much less a country like Venezuela. Another illegal act from a criminal.

One additional thought I have about this is the op leaked to at least two news orgs, random right wing twitter personalities, people were insider trading on the betting sites, oil industry execs, and god only knows who else. What is the implication? Any even barely competent foreign intel service could plausibly get wind of an action before it starts and cause us A Situation.

VZ also devalued the currency to zero to payoff the national debt resulting in hyperinflation.

Obligatory Blackadder clip regarding operational security:

Secondly, will Donald's admin be calling this a "special military operation", just like his best bud did?

Lol, forgot that part, but... VZ has now a full dolarized economy since Trump took the power. So, it's homework for him to recover or to show up his real values in economy

Remember, we are now trying to weaken Fed independence with the next Chairman. A Central Bank that only favors government policy leads to lack of faith in the fiat currency.

There is also long been rumors we are somehow going to demonitize the 35 trillion dollar debt with worthless crypto or worthless dollars.

And you wonder why gold went from 1200 in 2019 to 4500 today and silver is now 75.00 per ounce? That is why.

Nobody except the poor and middle class lose in a hyperinflation environment. The richest own assets that will gain value.

The interviewed educated people by this renowned news website explains perfectly the situation.
What is interesting is the kind of oil that lake macaraibo harbours and that Trump really is combining business with geopolitics.
The Trump administration desperately wants to prevent that China is going to exploit the oil fields and gets a stronger political grasp in Venezuela, and the Trump administration wants those oilfields.
This of course because the USA will increasingly only have shale oil and shale gas in the US soil.

It is original in dutch but i have provided a to English translated link :
Small excerpt from text :
"
Let's go back in time. Thanks to enormous oil discoveries and with the help of the US, Venezuela became one of the first major oil states in the last century. "In the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, this country accounted for 15 percent of global oil production," says energy specialist Jilles van den Beukel (HCSS).
But Venezuela's previous president, Hugo Chávez, believed that American companies were earning far too much and his country very little. At the beginning of this century, he nationalized major oil projects without compensating the companies. "That's why Trump still talks about 'stolen oil,'" says Van den Beukel.
Most American oil companies refused to cooperate with the new policy and left Venezuela. Chávez's successor, Maduro, continued his predecessor's course, much to the dissatisfaction of the US and other countries. They imposed sanctions on Venezuela, making it very difficult for the country to sell its oil.
On top of that, Chávez and later Maduro replaced many people at the national oil company PDVSA "with people hired for their loyalty and not for technical knowledge," says Van den Beukel.
"
and
"
Light vs. heavy oil
But that could prove difficult. Venezuelan soil contains so-called heavy oil, which is difficult to extract. Van den Beukel: "You have light oil that flows like water. And you have heavy oil, which flows more like tar. Making oil products from that isn't exactly a very clean and climate-friendly process."
Competing with countries fortunate enough to have access to light oil is therefore difficult. Experts say there's considerable global demand for heavy oil, but the high extraction costs and severely outdated equipment in Venezuela make it difficult to make production profitable. "Much of the oil infrastructure is outdated, missing, or broken," says Rapier. "This can't be resolved quickly."
"
and
"
Getting everything operational again could take decades and cost between €50 and €70 billion, says energy expert Lucia van Geuns (HCSS). "There's hardly any knowledge or expertise left in Venezuela regarding oil field production and management."
Van den Beukel: "American oil companies will think twice before investing even a little bit in this."
"

Don't panic! We are simply going to cancel the dollar and issue "new dollars" that are 10x more "valuable". Unfortunately your current dollar is now worth a dime. This would bring down the debt to 3.5T.

Mexico issued the "new Peso" . There was panic, gasoline shortages, rationing and food riots.

Is there a specific reason why high profile people are always flown to New York City to face charges? Just curious.
