Remember, we are now trying to weaken Fed independence with the next Chairman. A Central Bank that only favors government policy leads to lack of faith in the fiat currency.

There is also long been rumors we are somehow going to demonitize the 35 trillion dollar debt with worthless crypto or worthless dollars.

And you wonder why gold went from 1200 in 2019 to 4500 today and silver is now 75.00 per ounce? That is why.

Nobody except the poor and middle class lose in a hyperinflation environment. The richest own assets that will gain value.
What does any of this have to do with Trump's criminal and murderous attack on Venezuela?

Don't panic! We are simply going to cancel the dollar and issue "new dollars" that are 10x more "valuable". Unfortunately your current dollar is now worth a dime. This would bring down the debt to 3.5T.

Mexico issued the "new Peso" . There was panic, gasoline shortages, rationing and food riots.
What does this have to do with Trump's criminal and murderous attack on Venezuela?

Just when the rationalizations couldn't possibly get any dumber (Felix excepted), along comes Vance.

According to Vance, Venezuela was using oil money to fund "narcoterrorism". Does Vance somehow not understand that drug trafficking (for which he has no evidence) is generally a money making venture?

They have a strong conviction that Venezuela still ows the USA money, while Hugo Chavez followers in Venezuela have the opposite conviction, that the USA ows Venezuela money.

See my post about news with experts explaining it into detail.

Diversity is our strength and this thread is very diverse...in opinions.

Sadly we lost our greater strength about 40 years ago, unity. Unity is the strongest strength. Too much diversity leads to conflict, indecisivenes and derision.

We stand united in removing Maduro and ridding the world of drugs. Or do we?

I stand for the Constitution and the rule of law. You stand for whatever profit you can squeeze out of exploiting other people, Constitution be damned, so no, we are not united.
You support murder for money and I don't. We are not united.

We should let Felix, and Felix alone, live in his dream 1980s paradise, with his 1980s quality and size home, 1980s quality car and appliances, and 1980s wealth.

Maduro has pled not guilty to the charges in court.

I'll put the odds of the parking lot lawyer totally fucking this thing up at about 65%.

I rest my case. Diversity doesn't work.

People did ok back before private equity and oligarchy made life unaffordable. But back to VZ, we need to oversee a peaceful transition to democracy.

GDP per capita and median incomes are higher than ever before, durable goods are cheaper, large electronics and appliances, including autos, are more reliable than ever. The standard of living has never been better in the US. That's not to deny that there are problems, but the past isn't roses and buttercups. And it's a lot worse if you were anything but a white straight man.

There is *some* truth to what you are saying. Generally speaking though, things are fuxxored under Trump.

Trump explicitly and repeatedly said we're going to control VZ and its oil.
What you both do not seem to comprehend is... you changed nothing. Maduro's regime is still in power.
Now you have made them desperate to strike back, and look for help. Who do you think that help is going to be?

It did not take much for rebels in Yemen to make the United States navy FLEE the Red Sea.
Imagine what China could provide to the Americas.... as Trump's regime threatens Columbia, Cuba, Mexico, Panama, Canada, and Greenland.

"Law and order"
"America First"
I call bullshit. It's just Nazis doing Nazi things. Europe saw it in the 20th century, now the Americas get to see it in the 21st century. Different year, different actors, same old shit. The banality of evil as the horrific nature of mankind rises once more, eager for blood, war, and the enslavement or slaughter of others.

Repeat after me. MAGA Nazis are evil.
  1. NOW RUBIO WANTS CUBA
  2. ...AND THERE'S GREENLAND
  3. THREATS TO REMOVE COLOMBIA PRESIDENT
I suppose Columbia is at risk but I doubt that Trump mis-administration will attempt to commandeer Cuba, Greenland, Canada, Mexico, even Panama. I think they're making a lot more enemies than friends domestically and abroad, initially and eventually as well by kidnapping Maduro and wife.

You should be ashamed for trying to obfuscate how utterly fucked our system is with this bullshit.

Bigger drug traffickers meantime are being pardoned...

Trump administration is facing renewed questions over its recent pardon of former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez after the U.S. captured Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro on Saturday and charged him with crimes related to drug trafficking.

Hernandez in 2024 was convicted of conspiring with drug traffickers and using his government position to help hundreds of tons of cocaine enter the United States. He was sentenced to 45 years in prison...

Im not sure where to start...while GDP is up, real living wages are not keeping up with inflation. Americans can no longer afford the average home and rents leave little to spend on anything much less save, especially if you are single.

The primary problems in my opinion are stock buybacks which is wealth not shared in the form of real income and tax breaks, loopholes and shelters that allow the ultra wealthy to almost completely avoid taxation shifting the burden on a future we never deal with.
