Vegetarians suck.

*passes out sarcasm detectors*

On a more serious note, I think we should most likely eat what we've evolved to eat for our own health. But then, if the veggies die out because of a little-understood deficiency, I wouldn't really miss them 😉

Ignorant? How am I ignorant? Please explain...

I am well aware that some animals bred for consumption are housed in poor conditions. It's a horrible shame and it honestly breaks my heart. We have governmental agencies that are designed to protect the well-being of these animals and maintain a standard of living for them, but that doesn't always happen.

In a perfect world, all the cute, fuzzy animals would be inedible and the creatures destined for slaughter would be housed and processed painlessly. However, we don't live in a perfect world. Our society requires mass amounts of cheaply processed food. That isn't going to change.

I ate a block of raw bacon while hunting one time, it was before we shot the bear that trip, and I was to lazy to slice the bacon and cook it. I realized the risk of eating raw bacon, and disregarded it.

I can't begin to fathom how much you just contradicted yourself.

Wow. Quite the rebel you are. 😀

Well this topic seems to be awaiting vegetarians to blast and retaliate,

but yeah I really can't imagine not having meat as part of my diet

I'll start for you, Mac. 🙂 Producing meat is NOT "cheaply processed food". Honestly, bridgen, if you think it's more efficient to produce a diet including meat compared to a veggie diet you are seriously deluding yourself. Water and land usage comparisons alone make meat look ridiculous.

Humans eat meat. If we were designed to eat grass, carrots and other crap that couldn't get away from us when we tried to eat it we'd be just as stupid as your garden variety cow which just munches on whats in front of it all day.

We have big brains and forward looking eyes to allow us to hunt and kill prey. In order to get that prey we needed to be smart. In order to be smart we needed large brains. In order to have large brains we need to consume large amounts of calories, like those found in meat.

To me, denying the need to eat meat is to deny one's own humanity. The tiger doesn't apologize to his prey when he eats it. He doesn't feel sorry for it. He just does it, because thats what tigers do.

But thats my opinion...others may have a different one.
I really don't have a problem with vegans and vegetarians or whatever, as long as they shut up and stop trying to ruin my meal. They eat their tofu and I'll eat my burger. We'll both shut up and everything's peachy.

You think the government actually tries to "protect the well-being" and "maintain a decent standard of living" for the animals? You have got to be kidding.

No, in a perfect world people would think they need everything they have now. This country is one of consumption. Everyone wants MORE meat, and they want it cheaper. That is what drives the industry to care less and less about what they feed the animals and the conditions they raise them in. They are businesses and they only want to make more money.

It isnt going to change because of the consumer.

Threads like these need to be closed. You meat eaters are always gonna look at vegans like crazy f*cks, and us vegans are always going to know you are heartless meat eating b@stards. And thats the way it is.

...and then there are those of us who actually (surprise!) live and let live. I eat meat. My sister is a vegetarian. I don't look down on her and she doesn't look down on me. Honestly, who cares what the guy next to you is eating?

Yeah, that is how it should be. I don't force my habits on others, and that is how it should be.

If people didn't have a problem with vegetarians then people wouldn't protest against gay marriage and people wouldn't fly planes into buildings.

yea, just look at all the stuff we've lost the ability to synthesize. investing less energy into a giant digestive system allows us to have a large blood hungry brain🙂

No, but you did post that stereotypical militant veggie www.factoryfarming.org post.
You don't push your ideals directly, just indirectly.

I have a mostly vegetarian diet, but I love meat.

Well, I remember taking a third year Environmental Philosophy class and the prof. explained to us that many theorize that if the world were comprised entirely of vegetarians, the environment would be far worse off.

Yes...because by posting that I wanted to indrectly affect everyones eating habits.

No one had to go to the website, I simply posted it for those who wished to.

Good for you!

For all the "non-red-meat eaters..." just thought you'd like to know I had a nice juicy steak grilled medium rare tonight for dinner 😀

Do me a favor, stop posting. You are insulting my intelligence and wasting my time. The person who started this thread imposed himself more than I did with my one link.

If I wanted to tell people what to do, I wouldn't bother to do it indirectly.

Stop assuming things, it makes you look retarded.

To me, life without veal stock, pork fat, sausage, organ meat, demi-glace, or even stinky cheese is a life not worth living. Vegetarians are the enemy of everything good and decent in the human spirit, an affront to all I stand for, the pure enjoyment of food."

-Anthony Bourdain, executive chef of Brasserie Les Halles New York

Hilarious quote, if a little offensive. I like it though. 😀

lol thats pretty funny but seriously if vegetarians are an affront to *all* he stands for, the pure enjoyment of food... he is missing out on a lot in life
