i understand is a bullshit phrase that society has conditioned you to throw out when you are just trying to assuage people. it does not mean that someone is actually empathizing.

Besides that... how can you NOT enjoy a nice big juicy steak?

We're omnivores, like goats and pigs, not carnivores. Slight, but important difference.

Exactly - that means we eat meat too.

I just personally find it funny that various companies have made meat-like products out of vegetarian products. Vegie burgers, tofu dogs, etc. Meanwhile I'm paying a fractin of the price for the _real thing_, and loving it.

In a nutshell, because that sh!t is GOOD. 99% of the time, if I can substitute Boca ground meatless in place of ground beef, I will (it just doesn't work in some things). For most anything else, I use ground chicken or ground turkey. It's so nice to take the lid off of a pot of chili or spaghetti sauce and NOT have a sheet of grease on top of it.

And it's full of protein, low in fat and calories. It's great.

Not to say a juicy steak doesn't have a place in a balanced diet, but those meat substitutes are definitely worth the price.

Hilarious!

I'm a carnivore who eats the occasional non-meat product.

If God had intended us to eat vegetables and fruits then he would have made them out of meat

Just order it well done!

I for one, hate steak.. so sick, big bloody, bad for you, sick.

I do however like Poultry and things like lunchmeat (subs and stuff)

but eating raw beef is nasty IMO!

Bad for you? In small amounts, it's packed full of nutrients, and if you are worried about your fat intake, just choose a leaner cut. Like everything else, moderation is key. Hell, I was raised hindu and I love the stuff. :lips:

P.S. ITS NOT BLOOD

What are you talking about? Bad for you and sick? It's not as lean as say chicken but it's not that much fatter. Eating it close to raw has no adverse health benefits. If anything, eating processed sh!t like that lunchmeat is unhealthy.

Bourdain has written a few books I would recommend even if you're not particularly into cooking. Kitchen Confidential in particular is a very interesting read about what all goes on behind the scenes in the food industry.

All the vegans in the house
All the vegans, all the vegans
All the vegans in the house
All the vegans, all the vegans

She's not eatin' bacon,
Not eatin' sausage,
And she won't eat eggs,
Not eatin' chicken
Not eatin' turkey,
She won't have a steak,
But i just can't help feelin' sorry
For this poor little lettuce head
You know, I can't stop cryin' cause I know
This broccoli is dead

Vegetarian? I'm not a vegetarian, vegetarian...she's a
vegetarian

Poor little cow, little sheep, little fish
How can i sleep? When carrots are bleedin'
Plants are screamin'
And tomatoes cry
You say, "it's not so bad, they're only vegtables",
That's what you said
Maybe I'm a murderer,
But i'm hungry and they're better off dead

Vegetarian? I'm not a vegetarian, vegetarian...she's a

Save a plant, eat a cow,
I want beef, i want it now!
I'm gonna eat it cause it's red!
I'm gonna eat it cause it's dead!
Maybe i should eat it raw
Let the blood run down my jaw
I'd eat people if it was legal,
I'd eat people if it was legal

Carrot Juice Is Murder - Arrogant Worms

Listen up brothers and sisters come hear my desperate tale
I speak of our friends of nature trapped in the dirt like a jail
Vegetables live in oppression, served on our tables each night
This killing of veggies is madness, I say we take up the fight
Salads are only for murderers, coleslaw's a fascist regime
Don't think that they don't have feelings, just cause a radish can't scream

Chorus:
I've heard the screams of the vegetables (scream, scream, scream)
Watching their skins being peeled (having their insides revealed)
Grated and steamed with no mercy (burning off calories)
How do you think that feels (bet it hurts really bad)
Carrot juice constitutes murder (and that's a real crime)
Greenhouses prisons for slaves (let my vegetables go)
It's time to stop all this gardening (it's dirty as hell)
Let's call a spade a spade (is a spade is a spade is a spade)

I saw a man eating celery, so I beat him black and blue
If he ever touches a sprout again, I'll bite him clean in two
I'm a political prisoner, trapped in a windowless cage
Cause I stopped the slaughter of turnips by killing five men in a rage
I told the judge when he sentenced me, "This is my finest hour,
I'd kill those farmers again just to save one more cauliflower"

Chorus

How low as people do we dare to stoop,
Making young broccolis bleed in the soup?
Untie your beans, uncage your tomatoes
Let potted plants free, don't mash that potato!
Oh spare the spud! Eat a cow instead!

I've heard the screams of the vegetables (scream, scream, scream)
Watching their skins being peeled (fates in the stir-fry are sealed)
Grated and steamed with no mercy (you fat gourmet slob)
How do you think that feels? (leave them out in the field)
Carrot juice constitutes murder (V8's genocide)
Greenhouses prisons for slaves (yes, your composts are graves)
It's time to stop all this gardening (take up macrame)
Let's call a spade a spade
(is a spade, is a spade, is a spade, is a spade......)

Power to the peas! Give peas a chance!
all we are saying, is give peas a chance

How can you say steak is bad, but then claim to like lunchmeat? Lunchmeat is everything left over that you wouldn't normally eat, not to mention that it's usually loaded with chemicals.

It's called Aggravated Assault.

People go to jail for it, regardless of its Darwinian qualities.
