But I could never live there.

Just came back on vacation from there. What an awesome place!

Correction: The strip is certainly impressive and has a kind of artificial beauty. However, the rest of the city is a dump.

yeah vegas is like one of those hollywood sets, it only looks good if you look at it from an angle (the strip). If you even go one block beyond the strip, you can see the "fake" part of it

I live in southwest Vegas and I absolutely love it. Other than the cost of living it's a great city to live in.

Beautiful? I cringe at the thought. Vegas is a lot of things, but beautiful isn't something that ever comes to mind.

You didn't just happen to come back on Wednesday, did you? I've got a coworker who just got back from partying it up in Vegas with his friends, and wouldn't be surprised if some of his friends were members of AT.

Holy crap, yes. I went there for the first time in June (few years back), and I had to prepare for a fitness test not long after I returned home. Tried to go running at 10pm, and it was like running in a freaking oven. It was windy, but it simply felt like the blast of air that hits you when you open the oven door. I thought I was melting.

But, I love Vegas. If you think it's ugly there, try heading northeast to the Springs Mountain Nat'l Recreation Area which is about 20 miles outside the upper reaches of the burbs. You'd be amazed at the beauty up there, and it's worth time away from the Strip to go for a hike.

As soon as I get a hosting site picked, I'll post some pictures. :)

Why is it great? Cite five examples.

To hell with Vegas- if I ever get out west I'd rather go see Hoover Dam.

Ouch. I was last there in July of last year, and it was profoundly hot. It wasn't particularly humid, but it didn't help when it feels like you're being scorched while walking the strip.

I went in April the time before that, and the weather was really pleasant. It was actually chilly some of the time. Had a great time then.
