Trying to play a cassette recorded in PAL system. It doesn't play right. Using ATI VIVO card. Do I need a PAL VCR? Can't I play with the NTSC VCRs here?
Yup, need a PAL VCR. Might be able to borrow one from the college library, otherwise I wouldn't know where you might find one outside of a video production house that has one around for odd projects.
There's plenty of multi-system VCRs on the market. They can do conversion, etc. Not cheap tho. If you had a PAL VCR you can set the video in on the ATI to PAL and watch the stuff. I've done this b4 with my old AIW Pro.
I'm sorry if I come out sounding dumb but what is PAL? ... are they RCA jacks or the Cable box jack that u plug ur cable into? I think they call that thing Composite or sth?
I'm no expert on this but PAL is the video display format used in Europe and other places... it has a different resolution than NTSC (US, Japan, others) so they're incompatible.
