Vaping - "A devastatingly effective anti-smoking weapon"

My objection the "vape" movement is the proliferation of TV and radio ads with sexy celebrities pitching this stuff. Not as a cigarette alternative, but as the cool new "thing". Nicotine is an unhealthy, addictive chemical and I resent the fact that it's being marketed to kids in this new form. Advertising vaporizers or e-cigs should be just as illegal as advertising any tobacco product.

If you don't advertise then smokers won't be aware of it. The advertising should continue, but the style of advertising needs to be free of youth oriented stuff.

I haven't seen any of those. I also don't watch TV. I don't disagree with what you're saying, but someday I'll have to explain it to my kids, and I'd much rather they vape when compared to smoking.

You haven't seen the Blu e-cig commercials with Jenny McCarthy and Stephen Dorff?

I agree. I am very sensitive to smells such as perfumes. Some of the scents can really affect me.

We should ban music also, almost all of it annoys the hell out of me, and people waste untold amount of time and money on it. Probably a bigger drain on our economy than both smoking and alcohol.

here here, smogzinn for prez!!!

I know, my "I agree" was tongue in cheek, but scents really do affect me. I have trouble with shaving cream sometimes. But I understand that it's not the norm, and if someone is affecting me enough I'll just excuse myself.

How about you guys just beat the habit instead of bringing up silly comparisons like perfume, candles, and incense?

I don't care if it's healthy for you since it's annoying and rude and I need people blowing smoke all over about as much as I need you guys blowing bubbles all over.

Dude, first off, it's NOT SMOKE so please do not compare vaping with smoking as the two are completely different. I know your calling it "smoke" is nothing more than an excuse to complain about it. I don't vape in stores or anywhere else indoors just for the simple reason that there are hundreds of flavorings available and I don't feel as if I have a right to make anyone smell the aroma of what I might be vaping at any particular time. There are zero indicators that 2nd-hand vapor is harmful to anyone and E-cigs are making a huge dent in the sales of analog (traditional) cigs, this overall is an awesome thing as less people will die from the 300+ known carcinogens that exist in tobacco smoke and E-cigs do not leave butts all over the place.

The vaping industry is controlled by small business. Big tobacco companies only make those crappy e-cigs that look like cigarettes, you know, the kind that nobody likes to use because they suck.

+1

Have never tried a Blue E-Cig and probably never will.

Big tobacco has not let the vaping trend go unnoticed and have new offerings that are a lot better than their first attempts, but the problem is it will always involve a proprietary refill from them and this is exactly what current vapers do not want. Think of it like the HP scanner\copier\printer for stupid cheap that sells for what it cost to make, the real $$ is in the cartridge refills.

The real game plan by big tobacco is to legislate their way into vaping by regulating independant vapor sellers out of business. This is the real reason behind all the propaganda about how e-cig vapor might not be safe. The reality is that everything used in vapor liquid is food grade additives that have been in use for decades. The only ones questioning it's relative safety is those that stand to profit by getting government to regulate it.

smoking is a disgusting habit that i assume originated in virginia or texas. some hole

i have seen people do it at work and whenever i do i take a newspaper and smack the cigarette out of their mouths and yell 'nein!,verboten! and run off before they can recognize my face and realize that i am not actually a german but their coworker

The FDA is currently reviewing the Ecig situation, IMHO they will probably force people into proving they are 18 before any online sales of E-liquid or it might wind up being available only when bought in person so the age of the buyer can be proven.

Keep it up, eventually someone will extinguish their cig in your eyeball and that would be fair.
