I tried this and just couldn't get into the game. Can anyone try to sell me? I don't think I went more than 15 minutes... I just felt like I didn't know where I was going or what I was doing.

ADD? 15 minutes is not enough time to get into ANY RPG. Hell, most RPG's will barely get past the introduction in that amount of time. Vampire is not for the twitch FPS gamers. It's probably one of the greatest PC games in a long time - even with all its bugs. Vampire is a work of art, something that can't be said about very many games. You just gotta give it a few hours, it'll pull you in.

But it doesn't FEEL like an RPG; it felt like a FPS with dialogue trees. That's the problem I had with it (and I think I was playing before all of these patches, I'm reinstalling right now to give it another try)

Bioshock > all other FPS I've ever played, so don't talk to me about twitch FPS. Fallout is my favorite game of all time (followed by Fallout 2, KOTOR, and KOTOR 2 in that order - toss in the Dawn of War series for good measure).

For whatever reason when I was playing it the game just didn't feel right. I don't know what it was. I sucked some blood from a human... beat up some vampires in some shack... I was very confused :p

i you *hate* being a bloodsucker, it may not be for you .. and it takes some time to "find" your story.

as it is, Vampires always fascinated me - being a genuine night person myself; i can get a lot done early in the AM with only my thoughts for company -or i can play a lot of games, whatever.

However, after that SAME damn animation of attacking and near-draining the Life from a Human, i actually felt "cured" of ever even dreaming of actually being one .. it IS pretty disgusting and - much worse - repetitious
:lips:

However, i still gave it in the high 8s - the story is really good .. unfortunately i only had the last Official Patch .. so near the end it got buggy as all Vampire Glitch Hell can get :|

Playing with the Latest Community Patch may well improve the experience for you and i might have given it in the 9s

Wasn't trying to say you were a twitch FPS gamer. Sorry if it came off like that. But yeah maybe it's just not your style of game. I'd say give it another shot but give it more than 15 minutes. If you still don't like it after a couple of hours, then yeah it's probably not for you.

You dreamed of being a vampire...LOL :p

Of course that's what is written - I clicked the Quote button. Poor grammar confuses.

Umm, yea, that is definitely some poor grammar. I've re-read it 10 times and still interpret it the same way that Sanzen did.

Back on topic - I too played through this game with only the last official patch. It was a great game that really drew me in, although I can certainly attest to it still being buggy at that point. I'd love to go back and replay it with the latest user patches at some point.
