i said that in response to the fact that you need steam in order to play 1.6....
Not for LAN, if you have an older version. There was never a non-Steam version of CS:S released, AFAIK.
most 1.6 players don't only play on lan... in between whining, they play online with teammates and scrim in leagues in order to make them feel special so they can play in lan tournaments. unfortunately, they suck so much at cs:s and their computers are such pieces of shyt that they refuse to let go of an ancient, worn-out security blanket of the game known as counter-strike 1.6.
i am going to disagree with you. CS 1.6 is MUCH better than CS:S. 1.6 is much faster paced, the jumping in source feels really awkward, as well as most other things, and it's just really annoying when you get delayed by that stupid stuff on the ground (trash, etc.). Also, i do believe that it's not graphics that make a game, but the game play. I also believe that you started playing CS near to the time that CS:S was released... am i right?
yeah, you're right... being a character that's perspectively 3 feet tall who throws barrels for grenades and can pull off the easiest headshots ever beats the first-person pov from cs:s.
the reason it's different is because source is more realistic than that cartoony piece of shyt game, 1.6. not only that, but wtf with the exploits like 16-bitting and illegal flashes in 1.6? how in the hell does unfixable bugs contribute to it being a better game?
also, your arguments about moving around the trash is WAAAAY invalid. that was a problem a year ago.
i've been playing cs since 1.4...
