So I was finishing up a nice evening of HL2DM when steam prompted me to participate in a survey. I did so (only a couple of clicks) and saw the results. Several things caught my eye. This survey consisted of 711,302 members at the time I saw it.

So far? This survey has been around for years.

"This survey began on March 3rd, 2006. This page last updated: 7:37pm PST (03:37 GMT), April 04 2006 Unique Samples: 711302"

So it's almost 3 months out of date. Still interesting though I'll admit not as much as if it were current.

yup, the real user base isn't as hardcore as u'd think.
in pc vs console arguements the pc people seem to think everyones got sli😛

interesting, they've added quite a bit more survey information..screen aspect ratio/dual display/driver info etc. that wasn't there last i checked. people don't have up to date drivers heh, nightmare for the developer i guess.

i said that in response to the fact that you need steam in order to play 1.6....

Not for LAN, if you have an older version. There was never a non-Steam version of CS:S released, AFAIK.

most 1.6 players don't only play on lan... in between whining, they play online with teammates and scrim in leagues in order to make them feel special so they can play in lan tournaments. unfortunately, they suck so much at cs:s and their computers are such pieces of shyt that they refuse to let go of an ancient, worn-out security blanket of the game known as counter-strike 1.6.

Haha, as if CS:S (or any other internet game ever made) doesn't have whiners.

they all do, but there's a difference between 1.6 whining and normal gamer whining.

I dunno, I still play regular CS 1.6 on my 2.2ghz AMD 64 with 1gb of ram and quite enjoy it. Haven't even tried CS:S yet.

Examples, plz. Whining has always been pretty much the same in almost any game I've played.
