That sounds about right, especially with all the electric usage (the tv, games, laundray, puters, etc - that's a LOT). Also if you're opening the doors a lot that will drive up your heating costs.

Don't you remember when your dad yelled at you for opening the door so much and letting in cold air? That's because it costs money when you do.

I can tell you the same thing, when we moved here to Spokane I shit when we got our utility bills in the winter, natural gas is very expensive here, heating with electric is cheaper.

A guy averages 1/2 loads every 2 weeks. There is no need to do a laundry twice a week? do you have like 3 boxers and 1 shirt that you rotate?

laundry can hike up ur bill easily. I bet you are spending an extra 100 or more just from that. The rest seems ok, even though a little on the high end. why not shut off the xbox/wii when no playing?

Buy 15 boxers (~$3 per) and do ur laundry twice a month. Thats 6 loads a month for all of u. will def. save u tons.

I was paying like 80-100 a month for electric/phone/internet (x3 people) which I think worked out to about $200 a month for electricity during winter and like half that during the summer. We had 3 computers and some other junk but nothing else major but our apartment was terrible at keeping heat in. We also had a roommate who would occasionally leave the door open. So that seems a bit high to me.

Ummm... I own a 2000 square foot house. I have 2 tvs. 3 pcs. 2 lappys. All the entertainment features of the current day (consoles, bass guitar, surround sound). Plus my wife who is home most of the day.

My last bill was $164 for elec, gas, garbage, water/sewage. EDIT: Also, it's been fucking cold lately so this bill is HIGH. I usually pay ~$130/mo.

So in escense... Go fuck yourself.

Some people are active and not sedentary beings. I do 2 loads of laundry a week easily. 3-4 pants per week, 7 shirts, plus workout clothes, sweatshirts, etc.

Just because you overdo your laundry, doesnt make other sedentary, nor does it make you perfectly clean/hygeinic (sp?)

Unless you work in construction out on the field or your work doesnt clean ur place every night, there is no need to wash 4 pants a week after only one wear. sure you can work out every day of the week and need to wash like 7 sets of tshirts and shorts, but commonly used average is 3 days a week for working out and you can easily have 6 workout cothes using shorts twice.... unless you do ur workouts Commando style.

Between three guys though odds are someone is going to need to do laundry.

I wash a load pretty much every day or two (small efficency washer). Between work clothes, workout stuff (4-5 times per week), towels, sheets, etc... it adds up.

Your math sucks. 3-4 pants averages out to 3.5, or two days per pants. I don't care what the common average for working out is, I play sports or work out easily 7+ times a week.

Once summer rolls around I wont be wearing so many layers so everything will decrease, but then again I'll sweat more from the heat so maybe it wont.

I should also add that my clothes are probably 25% larger then everyone elses, and I wear a fresh t-shirt every day under whatever shirt I wear.

Has nothing really to do with 3 people doing 7 loads of wash a week unless they are keeping clothing separate.

I ran daily and worked out, two pairs of shorts, underwear. 2 hand towels, 2 pairs of sock and usually 1 t-shirt. A full week of that fit easily into the rest of my clothes and left room to spare. I could have doubled/tripled up the workout clothing and still been fine with the rest of my clothes all making up a load of lights, darks and whites.

I also washed my work pants after each wearing.

The point was they could combine loads if they were concerned with savings.
