No kidding. Is that what the whole IRC scene is really like nowadays? Back in the days of Quake1, everyone was cool on IRC. I just fired up mirc today for the first time in years.
 
well nothing seems to be happening. i heard they were distributing the demo to sites, but nothing after that. it's 1 in my country, so i may just wait till tommorow

Yeah really! Those were the days. IRC just isn't the same anymore.
 
Let's see if I can calm some people down...

The rocket launcher got gimpified...it only holds/can queue up 3 rockets and you can no longer lob them like before.

There is no sniper rifle.

The bio rifle pretty much sucks.

The shock rifle is about the same, shoots a little faster.

Haven't seen any redeamers.

Bot AI was/is crappy...

Runs slow on a 1.4 tbird 512M PC133 :/ with a gf2 gts 32M DDR at anything above 640x480 (even choppy at that res sometimes).

Graphics are nice...most of the maps are pretty small.

Eye candy is nice if your system can handle it, but if you ask me they chose too much eye candy over too little gameplay.

Maybe some of this has changed officially now, I don't know...
 
Hey matt, this is a new game... with different stuff in it... if you want to play UT, play UT... if all the weapons were exactly the same why would you buy it?

btw, how long do you expect that 32 meg geforce 2 to last? its 3 years old you know...

aww man, not they gotta load it up to all the sites, which will take another hour. i'm just gonna get it tommorow. (it's 1:26 here). everyone post back on the demo. and comment on what the weapons are like, and if u actually get to use all the weapons? (UT demo u didn't)

Well, let me ask you this. Why would you buy it if they only added one new weapon and removed 2? lol I do and I will continue to play UT (it is my favorite 1st person shooter...catch me on ondoher's bistro of redemption if you want), I just hope they fixed some stuff in the last month. We'll see, I suppose. Plus, UT was nice because it played on a lot of systems -- it would be sad if this flops because not enough people can handle the requirements it takes to play enjoyably (the minimum req's for 2k3 look like a joke, which is normal I guess).

Again, let me say I like UT and want this to do well, but I'm concerned they went the way of diakitana (sp?)...

I'm hurt. lol. Hey, just cause I don't buy into hype doesn't mean you have to insult me. 😛 Some of us have other things to spend money on than over priced video cards, especially when I see only one current game that's hurting mine...
