I officially hate this game as it will take up all my free time, which I have none so it will take up other time, that is ever there. I'm slow and don't know how to play just yet.....get my butt kicked often. Why do you guys have to do this to an old man like me?
Muttley,
I may have frozen your server. I popped in about 5 minutes ago, started playing, and my PC locked up. Hard. Had to turn it off and back on. Not sure what caused it. probably my slow PC.
Bench Results : dual Mp 1000 at 1120mhz, 512meg Reg DDR, Original Geforce 32meg DDR ( Anihillator Pro) FB 37.8, BOT 23.3 Res 1024x768 No Sound card installed. Is that good? Or what? I am an old guy, prefer Diablo 2. This is to hard. Can`t drink, smoke and play at the same time.
Thanks Muttley, lots of fun. I don't think the DC progam will hurt at all, this beast is so video intensive. I still have SETI running and I just posted in the daily race Stats my machine is actually kicking out more WU's running UT with the Video card overclocked, I didn't think the AGP bus would have anything to so wth system bus memory but apparently the memory controller's are intertwined like the PCI bus.
Try this instead of typing in an IP address type in open www.advancedhelp.org
tell me if that works or if its just cause I'm on this side of the network.
From the little bit of this game I've played, it looks awesome!
I've been having some issues with it locking up my system. Windows XP keeps blaming my Radeon 8500 drivers. I've installed the latest Catalyst drivers but am still having issues. I am going to attempt a reinstall of the OS and see if that fixes the problem. When I upgraded to the 8500 from my Geforce 3 Ti200, I never did a complete reinstall so there could be some lingering Nvidia drivers that are causing the Radeon some problems.
Once I get all those problems resolved, I'll be hopping on Muttley's server to frag all you @$$e$!
Actually, you'll probably use me for target practice but I can dream
I've got a couple of issues with the game myself. The first time I ran it the screen refresh rate was only 60 Hz. Managed to find a spot in the UT2003.ini file where you can set it to whatever you want (just stay inside your monitor's limits). The other lingering problem is screen flicker. Seems like there is an underlying grid in red that keeps trying to show through on the little nVIDIA intro logo, and once in the game it keeps flickering like a chanel that's not tuned in right on a TV. The only thing I can do is play it in a window and it's fine or turn on AA 4x and it's much better.
Any bright ideas?
System:
MSI K7T266 Pro2
XP 2100+
Asus V8420 GeForce 4 Ti4200 using nVIDIA 40.41 drivers
Windows 2000 Professional SP2
Direct X 8.1a
Not sure which VIA 4in1 I'm running
<EDIT>
I went back to the Asus drivers and everything is working like it should. No more screen flashing. Had to re-run Refresh Force to get the monitor to do more than 60 Hz though.
