Hi RC,

I keep getting similar crashes since day one, interesting thing though is that it seems to be server specific. I get the crashes consistenty on Muttley's server but I can go to other servers and it stays up the whole time. I also can run into a server where it crashes as well so it is baffling. I'm very sure it is not a problem with the computer. I'm also pretty sure the servers that it's crashing on is not a problem either, just weird coding. I still try and pop in n Muttley's to see everybody from here in there but I don't expect it to stay up long. If it doesn't crash back out to windows I can usually still type messages.
 
Why didn't you guys get this fired up over the Descent 3 Demo...? Now THERE's a game I like. All manner of craftiness and mind games are possible in D3 😀
 
Mech: Because we actually stand a chance at UT2K3. I don't think I've ever won a game against you in D3.😛

Saw Mech on last night briefly, of course he got me and I wasn't able to get him, then I GPF'd, when came back Mech was gone but Muttley was on. We got to frag each other for I believe a complete match time as Muttley came out the winner and then I GPF'd but that was the longest I stayed up and running and was right behind Muttley.
I might try loading the game on a different machine.
 
Everyone see the news about the UT2003 Demo cutting the entire Internet speed in half because so many people downloading it? It's on the Anandtech front page news. Wonder what they will put about the RC5 project being completed today?
 
I added more memory and changed the priority of the program. Things seem to be running better. I wass getting 30 ms ping times and now I get 0 ping time.

Try connecting again everyone and see if this fixes some problems.

Hey, I was goofing around in single-player and found something fun: in Asbestos, go to the room where the Lightning Gun is, then run up the ramp to the Adrenaline, or the other side where the health + is. Look straight up and you see a cavity. Shoot into there and see what it says 😀 I also found out that you can Translocate up onto the two outcroppings next to those cavities... great place to lie in wait and pounce on people, or you can plant a Translocator there as an escape point.
 
You must have left just before I joined Mech. I too found it to be quite dificult and rather choppy tonight but definately still entertaining. There must be a new demo out that is taking half the worlds internet traffic

I was trying to play just now, but there's a severe lag problem. 🙁 Everything's on a time delay of 1 to 3 seconds tonight. Run toward weapon, stop and wait to see where I end up, go a bit further, stop and see where I end up. Uh oh, incoming fire! :Q Turn to see where the bot was 3 seconds ago, guess where it really is now, fire at that spot, wait and see who dies 😀 Aieee! I was beaten by the bots and gave up for the time being.
