Lemme do some explainings

Priority Mail varies a lot. USPS piggybacks on Fedex mainly (UPS I believe too) for Express, and Priority Mail.
First Class, Priority Mail (sometimes), and Parcels that weigh 1lb or less go on Commercial Airlines

Priority Mail in Major destinations have a better chance of getting there. I've had a Boston > Seattle package get there in two days.

It really depends on flights and how the package is being routed.

Does Priority come with regular snail mail, or is it delivered separately at another time during the day?
NY to Cali in in 2 days. Wow.

The employees at my local post office say Priorty Mail ships with First Class mail, it just gets handled first.

Oh wells.

Actually, if it is guaranteed, then they will go out of their way to deliver. It has happened to me before.

Only Express Mail/ Global Express Mail Guarenteed is Guarenteed

Well a friend of mine says priority mail comes with a different carrier than his regular mail. He orders on ebay alot and he says everything priority comes around 3-5pm and his normal mail comes from 10-11am.
He swears up and down that priority mail comes at a later time.

I gues sit depends where you live....because that is how it happens in Boston. You get regular mail at your normal time and you get anything that is Proirity or Express between 11 and 5.

uhh...mail carriers get you your mail in boston and then a truck comes along to deliver your package

That also varies. If the package is small enough/ or envelope you can most likely get it with your Mail Carrier.

I've had instances when I'd get a Priority Envelope and the package courier comes with a Priority package.

USPS doesn't route their packages like Fedex, UPS, etc. because not everybody does labels. I've had two packages come by different drivers between 30mins

You are mistaken that never was their slogan, their is no weight limit for priority. You can send a 100lb object via priority flat rate envelopes if it fits.

USPS has no service guarantees and there is no refund.

UPS doesn't either.

Only USPS will deliver 365 days a year. Even on Sunday and all Holidays.

I don't see how they could be doing this, given USPS will still move express mail on sundays and holidays, but fedex and UPS won't.

 Why wouldn't it be their slogan? "Two days, 1 pound , "2.04." ???

You don't get the "Two days, two pounds, $2.90."

USPS only delivers 365 Days a year for Express Mail Services. I believe there were some exceptions. Fedex Ground Home Delivery does Saturday also

Because their is no 2 lb limit. Unless they were just saying you could ship 2 lbs. But that slogan sounds like the max is 2lbs when it isn't.

Are you sure about that bit with mail going on commercial airlines? Since 9/11, Alaska has had dedicated planes carrying mail to and from the states. Do they still allow mail to be carried on commercial flights in the rest of the country?

Is that twue?

Depends on your market. Shipping stuff from/into my tiny town never happens in less than 3

Well I got a confirmation email saying it was shipped Sunday, but that's not possible as Sunday was Easter.
So it was shipped either Saturday, or Monday.
We shall see if it comes in today. It would be the 3rd day from the day of shipment. 4th if you count Monday as well.
Hopefully it will be in today, but I have a sneaking suspicion he did not use priority as advertised.

I think USPS would still count on Commerical Airliners. You still have international Post office mail to deal with.

2-3 days is 2-3 days could be either.

Priority though is not a guaranteed service. I have shipped close to 1000 packages if not more. I only had one problem with priority and it took months to reach the distination. Still it's a great bang for buck service esp the flat rate box and envelopes.

most of the time it's 2 days....sometimes it's been 1 day even Florida to Puerto Rico.

yes most likely wed if not all the way across the country.

Minnesota to Texas - 997 miles

Depends less on the distance than it does the market ...and like zones and such (ok, I guess zones is another way of saying distance)

Well it took 3 days. Sent Monday, got it Thursday.
I had to send it back to have it replaced as it was having problems. So I sent it Monday, he will probably get it Wednesday or Thursday, and I will have another back on Saturday or Monday?

I hope not. I insured the package, but filing a claim is a huge pain in the arse.

Where did you mail it from and to? 10 days is a long time, but for long destinations it could get moved down the totem pole for higher priorities.

My longest shipment took 3+ months priority. I have found USPS the best bang for buck for many things with their flat rate. FedEx has been WAY better than UPS...now we are using DHL and so far it's been a big savings and things arrive ontime and without damage.
