You can play all the symantic games you want. Your true colors are evident in your first posts in this thread.

I didn't realize Symantec made games...I thought they just made gay office apps

You knew you'd bring the resident wackos out of the woodwork, and you couldn't even handle them. The rest of you need to learn a word called "respect." I don't say gay anymore because although I never actually meant "homosexual," the term nevertheless is offensive to gays. It didn't take much to get out of the habit of saying it, and now I don't offend anybody.

Funny you should bring up Hitler, just today on the news I heard about the movie based on The Hidden Hitler where it purports that Hitler was gay.

why do homosexual men insist on using the word gay, which up until that point meant happy, to describe themselves?

its really sad, because i suspect theres a lot of homosexuals that are unhappy (though not necessarily more than the public at large)

no I am not gay since that is on the minds of at least one of you

but then again, there were many white men invovled with the civil rights movement, even though it did not directly help them

maybe they were involved because it helped HUMANS as a whole...wow there's a novel concept

But i bet your are ugly..

I don't have anything against gay people, I just find you annoying.

Is there one person who doesn't find him annoying?

A word is only offensive if somebody takes offense at its use. People who try to demean others lose their power if you just don't feel bad about it.

Words gain new meanings all the time. When used to refer to people it used to mean happy. Then it came to refer to homos in a derogatory way and then the queers started using it to try and "take it away" from the breeders using it in a mean way. Obviously that didn't work. Now the term has 3 meanings: happy, homosexual, or "really lame or bad" (lame of course having taken on new meanings itself). If somebody uses it to describe something or even someone as "lame or bad" then take it that way and it's no longer an offensive word. Whatever its origins in this usage, the word has a new meaning now and the origins don't really matter.

I use ghey as the spelling when I'm referring to lameness though. Just because it's a better looking word to me.

Of course, some consistency in the moderation of the use of the word gay on these forums would be nice.

Actually, I dont care when people call the Irish a bunch of drunks that like to fight a lot. Usually, I tell them "Hey, I'm 100% Irish, and any time you want to try to beat me at drinking or fighting, just go right ahead." I dont go into a snit over it. I dont start lawsuits over the the police using the term "Paddy-wagon". Grow a little bit of a skin. EE, your skin is so thin that Kleen-ex probably feels like 20-grit to you. Quit your crying and join the rest of the world in living your life without caring what noises other people make.

Good point, my guess would be they chose to use "gay" because they were happy with their sexual orientation. They wanted people to know they were happy, not cigarettes. :D

Actually a much better argument is to say "jewish" because that's an actual term that people used to use a lot.
