There is a double standard with grammer critics

axe instead of ask is labeled ignorant

Dropping you G's on every word if "folksy"

PokerGuy, if you want to talk about stupidity, perhaps you should check your own interpretation of what you claim first before you attempt to blast someone else for it.

After talking about grammar usage, this is the relevant bit in the video that may possibly have anything to do with race:

Guardian video said:
It doesn't take much to see the power imbalance when it comes to grammar snobbery. The people pointing out the mistakes are more likely to be older, wealthier, whiter, or just plain academic than the people they're treating with condescension.

All too often it is a way to silence people, and that's particularly offensive when it's someone who might already be struggling to speak up.

We should spend more time listening to what others have to say and less focusing on the grammar what they say it with.

The article you posted is amusing. In order to try and make its point, it quotes plenty of sentences from the video leading up to the potentially problematic line, then inserts its own "interpretation" instead of quoting the key one, here:

article said:
While in the past poor grammar was something to be corrected, according to the feminists at The Guardian, it's something to be embraced, because the only people who still use proper grammar are old, wealthy, academic white people.

Is it your language comprehension skills that need work or your ability to understand logical propositions? I'm not sure, maybe both.

I completely lose all respect for someone after they say nucular. Nobody who attended high school talks like that.

Isn't it cultural appropriation for white folk to speak ebonics?
Yes. It's also cultural appropriation when black people pay their bills on time.
SJWs won't be happy unless everyone is a stereotype. Black people must act black, white people must act white, Asian people must act Asian. Even the KKK isn't that racist and stupid. What do racist people always say they like about educated black people? "He's so well spoken!"
What would an SJW say about a well spoken black man? He's trying to be white! He needs to get back into his small box of allowable character traits!

Everyone can watch the video for themselves and see exactly what is said.

And no, I have absolutely no problem with reading and comprehension.

Yeah, but his point is accurate. The person in the video says the word "white" once and never the word racist or racism. Whether her point is right or wrong, "racism" is not really the point of the video. At most it's ancillary. However, the article you link places race as front and center in a way the video does not.

Grammar Nazis are fucking idiots anyway.

That's probably the opinion of someone who never went to a university.

For someone who's been to a university, I wouldn't go so far as to calling myself a grammer nazi but it does irritate me when I read something like..

"I will be their"
"They misunderestimated me"
"Is our children learning?"

I'm kind of a grammar nerd myself. It drives me crazy when people say things like "between you and I" instead of "between you and me." But I recognize when it is clear that everyone understands what is meant anyway, so in a discussion I usually bite my tongue and avoid correcting the person. It is only when someone's grammar is so bad as to make him difficult to understand that I will say something. Usually I just get annoyed but keep my mouth shut.

This is more a pronunciation/accent issue, grammar is syntax. Without a basic understanding of syntax, logic, and that words have meaning, computers can't be programmed and history can't be understood without a corresponding pop-culture decoder ring.
