There are different series for the Falcoln line. Falcon XT Sedan starts at $23,878 when converted to US dollars.

I dunnno, but $36k for a 340hp rwd sedan is still kinda on the expensive side. or maybe I just can't imagine buying a ford with that kind of price tag.

Well a 300c maxed out runs $39k-$40k. Instead of introducing this crap 500 (which from all looks, is just a plain, boring, old man's car that's supposed to compete in the same category as the 300c) they could bring over the Falcon or something compareable. More and more I wonder what the head honchos at Ford are doing. They got it right with the 05 Mustang, but that's about the only thing they've done right with their cars.

Not a fan of the Ford.

But here is my next car 😎

Holden Crewman SS

A couple of things to remember when comparing Aussie car prices to US ones. Currently AU$1 buys around US$0.80, so your US dollars do go further.

The Aussie car market is way smaller than the US, we produce around 300,000 cars annually as compared to 5,000,000, so we do not get the economies of scale to bring down the price. *sigh*.

As to SUV's, they are becoming more popular, however the "ute" is ingrained in the Australian motoring psyche. Many a sheila has been knocked up in the back of a ute at the local B&S </Aussie lingo> and now that they are getting AWD and crewcab models they are even more popular.

I understand that Holden (a GM subsidary) is planning to export the Holden Monaro to the US under the Chevrolet brand.
