US to let Turkish forces move into Syria, abandoning Kurdish allies

Like it or not, we ARE the world police. When we aren't, China and Russia step in and make shit worse. This is the cost of victory after WW2. Abandoning our allies in any situation is unforgivable.
Yeah i guess so. I'm on the fence about us withdrawing but I'm not sure why everyone is surprised Trump is doing it. He said he would.

From that link:

I verified that he did actually say that. Even Trump admits his conflict of interest in this area lol.
Of course he admits it. His supporters don't care. They'll just make up some incredibly disingenuous narrative to convince themselves it doesn't matter.

Even Cocaine Mitch is openly disagreeing with Trump. He's screwed.

Something on cnn with Pat Robinson saying he will lose gods mandate over this.

I’m having trouble understanding what the benefit to the President or US is by abandoning the Kurds?

They’ve been good allies for 30(?) years. Why dump them?

He just wants to be the one who "got us out of the middle east" and "ended the US war with ISIS in Syria". He ran on America First and staying out of foreign wars. The Kurds are going to be the sacrifice for that.

When a new generation of Kurds starts terrorizing the US we can all thank trump, the republicans, and the people who voted for him for any loss of life.

There's also the fact that Putin is allies with Erdogan and Bashar, so the US pulling out strengthens them at the expense of our best ally in the region, the Kurds. It is absolutely in character for Trump to let good, innocent people die to bolster dictators he admires (see Saudi Arabia).

And I’m okay with that. I don’t think the President is too far off base with the idea. Just like the tariffs my main complaint is there appears to be no plan. Still don’t get how turning our back on a long time pretty stable ally is a good thing and how it removes us from the Middle East.

They're not gonna do any such thing. This is simply empty sound and fury from a couple of sycophants.

Then it is Lindsey Graham and other Republican sycophants who have betrayed US allies and weakened America. By not removing a sick and demented President. They join his guilt in this, and it is on us to make it stick to them. To make them feel it.

Sounds as if it could be less a point-of-principle and more just Trump's weakness at dealing, at a personal level, with fellow bullies who are tougher than he is.

Because Erdogan promised to keep Trump’s name on his 2 (TWO!!) towers in Istanbul.

(Erdogan had threatened to remove it before...)

I mean...that’s totally worth it, right? Not like a Trump descendant will ever have to fight a war on foreign soil rooted in this betrayal.

Miss Lindsey really has her undies in a twist about this on the tweeter right now. And I agree on this one.

But yeah, Erdogan is bombing civilian areas as I type this. More senseless deaths caused by Cadet Bonespurs.

The blood of our many Kurdish allies who are dead, dying and maimed for life are on Trump's widdle hands is no big deal to Trump and his enablers. This is just as horrific as Trump's unilateral decision to abandon our allies based on a phone call with a fellow tyrant of his.

Looks like Trump wants to spitefully create as much chaos and crises as possible before he gets ejected out of the White House. It also looks like he wants that to happen more than anyone else, well, besides Melania of course.

So when is the President going to ruin the Turkish economy?
He said he would if Turkey targeted allies.

I like how the President equates loss of life to loss of assets. Very telling as to what sort of a man he is.

Apparently, it was all because Trump wanted to get off the phone quickly because Erdogan was being mean to him, so he agreed to let Erdogan slaughter our allies. ....literally what WH staff reported.

Trump needs to be in jail now, for this alone.

You missed the part where those Kurds are no longer allies, I mean, he wouldn't pull troops out and abandon our allies after all!
