And the Kurds get screwed by the US again. Yet another "phone conversation".

"The White House has given the green light to a Turkish offensive into northern Syria, moving US forces out of the area in an abrupt foreign policy change that will in effect abandon Washington’s long-time allies, the Kurds.

Kurdish forces have spearheaded the campaign against Isis in the region, but the policy swerve, following a phone conversation between Donald Trump and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Sunday, means Turkey would take custody of captured Isis fighters, the White House said.

It represents the latest in a series of erratic moves by Trump, fighting impeachment at home, apparently taken without consultation with, or knowledge of, US diplomats dealing with Syria."

This is the way Trump fights back against his allies in the Middle East. Erdogan will one day feel Trump's stab in his back the moment Trump gets to talk to some other tyrant that will give Trump a boost to his ego and a quid pro quo better than Erdogan is giving him.

Stormy Daniels got nothing on Trump for the way he whores himself to his favorite flavor of tyrant of the day.

Trump is totally focused on saving his own skin and will sacrifice anything and anyone to do it. I'd be scared shitless if I was working for him because he's looking to blame someone for the troubles he's caused himself and no one is exempt from his need to shift blame away from himself.

The US got the SDF to back out of defensible positions that would have helped protect them from a Turkish assault with the pledge of US protection. Trump has now taken that pullback and gifted it to Erdogan/Putin by abandoning the SDF and our promises. Payment in full for all the Kurdish help against ISIS is getting totally fucked over.

Treachery is too mild a term for what he's done. This is likely to be one of the more infamous foreign policy reversals of the last 40 plus years. Also the credibility of us diplomatic and military channels is shot and yet another example in why Trump can't be trusted thus why nobody should deal with him. He'll drop you like a subcontractor he owes money to.

Lindsey Graham criticizes Trump's decision to abandon the Kurds:

Nikki Haley criticizes Trump's decision to abandon the Kurds:

Idiots!...they only have themselves to blame by supporting this turd of a President. Trump has no fucking idea what he's doing and then they go on supporting him with all they've got.

"If you try to remove me from office, I will burn every alliance on the way out."

Yeah. Good old Lindsey.

Wannabe authoritarian Trump currying favor with another authoritarian tool bag is pretty much par for the course at this point. The Turks and the Kurds were on a path to resolving their differences until Erdogan jacked it up. The Kurds are and have been treated like shit for decades in Turkey.

Who is going to trust the US going forward if it elects traitors like Trump? We are going to have to fight more wars on our own and get more of our people killed in the long run.

Who would trust us to begin?

Saddam, allie, invaded and killed when we were given the opportunity
Kaddafi, Helped us in WoT, gave up WMD ambitions, we toppled him when given a chance, he is dead
Mujahadeem, helped them kick out Soviets, abandoned them after which gave rise to the Taliban.
Kurd, nth time abandoning them.

Im sure there are plenty more examples of this if we were to dig. But these are only in the last couple decades. Iran and NK have the right idea. Dont trust us, build a nuclear weapon to deter us from invading.

Looks like Graham woke up a bit.

Wants to pass legislation to sanction Turkey if they attack the Kurds. It is possible that the Senate could override a veto given past support for this issue.

Welp...Today is Putin's birthday and since Trump can't give him Ukraine, he apparently gifted him northern Syria.

Donald fucks over the Kurds. Pulling out of Syria with no consultation with any allies, now Turks are free to slaughter the Kurds as they undoubtedly will. Message to the world: Don't be a good ally to the US, they'll just fuck you over.

The obvious follow-up question: what did Erdogan promise in return? Dirt on Joe Biden?.

Most likely the answer is probably nothing, just flattery. That's all it takes.

WTF!!..Does he think he's the Wizard of Oz or something?

Trump - "I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey "

He's going to build casinos there?
That's not even the most insane part of the tweet. He said he did it before. WTF is he even talking about here? Only economies he's destroyed are the personal finances of every contractor who ever did work for him.
