Gotcha, so if a company is profitable they should suffer at the expense of our Dear Leader and his global policies which benefit everyone except for our local US corporations.. And shit, they're making money, so we need to tax/enforce/spread the wealth around just to make things fair.....

It's not the business that has suffered over the last few decades, it's the US employee. The employees are going backwards, not the business. Of course, you wouldn't see that, even if you had went backwards yourself. This isn't about Obama, Bush, or anyone else. It's about a system that is rigged to ship out as many good paying jobs as possible as quickly as possible. Short term gain...long term destruction.

The foundation is being torn out and the building is going to fall....you're just too burred in the sand to see the rubble falling.

Who said anything about tax/spread the wealth/other bullshit? Point that out please?

I'll be damn sure to write my reps to voice against this. They don't give a shit but I'll do it anyway. I'm also going to voice my opinion that everything imported (food, etc) be labeled with point of origin, period.

Yeah I never understand why the right gets visibly aroused and excited whenever they hear about more jobs being exported. They are literally cheerleading it. That or blaming Americans for wanting a decent wage, a safe workplace and regulations that keep corporations from running amok.

Where the hell do you get info on the "right", from DailyKos?

This very thread (not everyone mind you).

???

No one is "excited" to see this happening. Not in any way, shape, or form.

But when you support a leader who openly prefers a global market and enacts policies which causes massive instability in regards to what a corp can expect from the federal government...... Well....... Don't be shocked when corps move their labor and production needs overseas.

From healthcare to min wages to everything else, it does not make good business sense to open factories or any other labor-dependent facility in the US right now. It is in no way appealing or profitable to do so, and who knows how bad it will be in a few years.

No one is happy to see this, it's just that some of us saw it coming years ago and aren't even mildly surprised.

Other people still blindly support our Dear Leader no matter how far he pushes our great nation down the drain.

I am with you but sadly, more and more of Americans do not care or even know about these kind of things. They want to know about what the Kardashians will do tomorrow or who will be in the next Dancing With The Stars, who will be the next judge for American Idols, and so on. <sad panda>

Probably because the baby boomers are retiring, and the younger generations will never know what it is like to have a good paying job in a factory.

What line of work do the 20 year olds know? Its low paying resale jobs.

The downward spiral has been so slow that a lot of the people have been able to change careers to adapt. But there is only so much adapting we can do before we hit rock bottom.

So - let me get this straight:
-We have reports that Chinese poultry products have killed dogs
-We have a long history of poisonous other products form China
-We have a hard time making sure domestic food companies adhere to our food safety standards and those are the ones we inspect!
-China has a history of cutting corners in terms of safety and quality

How the hell is this a good idea?!

Guess we'll have to wait for an outbreak or two before this gets stopped

Don't forget the cherry on top that the past 30 years of this economic history is Obama's fault (I 'm suposed to say my dear leader or messiah).

Just how many years ago did you see it? When it started with the free trade bullshit agreements that were dreamed by Reagan, pushed by Bush and signed by Clinton? Or is this an attempt by you to bash Obama for it all, as you routinely like to do? Get your head out of the sand and you'll see that this is about what the corporations and THEIR government (all sides) have done to the average US employee over the last 3 decades....

But of course, you'll wallow in your own pleasure of thinking that the 'Deal Leader' is doing this all to us.

Back to basics

Why do americans complain so much about everything that others produce? Only thing they don't complain - about dollar bills printed in US...

Instead lying on couch and spitting to the ceiling and complaining about everything, why not just start:

-to grow chincken in your own farm/backyard?
-to grow vegetables themselves - "organic"...
-to start to learn how to tailor a pair of underwear, instead getting it from China...
-to make themselves - socks, Nike's...computer parts/computers...
- an on and on and on...

You'll get busy and will be proud of products you made...others may thank you for products they'll buy from you...

Just...daytime, this forum will be "dead" - all people now posting anytime, will be working hard...iPhones will be used after workday ends...for a very few calls and couple texts...
Hardworking people would want to go to rest - they can't stay all nite long up...

If you'll start to make a very good quality products, you currency - dollar value will go up...
And when you'll get busy making your own products - you and others need - you'll even won't be interested in any wars - attacking any country for oil or any other reasons...Who'll want to go to attack Syria, if he/she is working for their own better being and for others?
In fact, Syria or counties like, will supply you with oil and other resourses in exchange for goods you make...

Are americans strong enough to achieve that...
Or "strong" enough to fire a nuclear Missiles at others?

Umm, Americans know how to do all those things.

Some things like shoes and computers are not really viable to be made at home, but whatever.

As for making stuff at home for yourself, how exactly is that going to fix the economy and the dollar?

This is the best population control that I have ever heard of. Now we can weed out the poor fat American.

Gintarasspeak is often obscure, but I think his main point (or at least one valid point that can be extracted) is that McNuggets aren't a necessity of life. Obviously people in the cities can't operate chicken farms or tomato gardens, but there are always alternatives (and much cheaper ones) for those that want them. No matter why it is, that companies want to make the move demonstrates that it is less expensive for chicken nuggets to be processed outside of the USA. When the Western world stops hording its wealth and allows less privileged nations to compete, it will make it more difficult for the average American to purchase these products. The fix? They'll have to consume less. They'll get over it.

If I dont like the look of chicken nuggets I dont eat them. If they dont look hand batter fried piece of actual chicken I will not eat them. At the grocery store, if I see a package that says made in Chin, I will not buy it.

Right now I'm drilling my own oil well, digging my own iron ore and refining my own steel so that I can manufacture my own car. And I'm building my own little computer-chip plant so that I can produce my own computer and television. I'm also growing wheat and soybeans and raising cattle, and the salmon are growing really fast in my bathtubs. And all of my neighbors are doing the same things. There's a slight problem with all of the pollution and environmental havoc we're all wreaking, but it's easy to do all of these things myself with all the time I save not having to go shopping for things.

You really have figured out a solution for America.

Nah, I'd say what's missing is all the "regulate! regulate! regulate! AND regulate some more fanatics until it's far cheaper to ship a chicken all the way to China and back than jump through a cloud of red tape and bullshit trying to do it here.
