They went back to the old suit and still sucked. Lets face it they lost because they weren't the best.

They went to the old ones after getting crushed in some of their best events and after the mental damage was done.

Next thing we're going to hear that the US Men's Swimming Team is going to complain about their speedos slowing them down...

How does allowing heat to escape from that mesh design an advantage in terms of speed in the first place? Maybe if it was long distance it would have mattered to the athlete's endurance a small iota. I play hockey and even with all the gear on I have never felt too hot in it... it's an ice rink. So they sweat... is that really going to build up so much that it matters?

Well - we already heard about those giving the swimmers and unfair advantage

Well, they'd all have to be all be shaved otherwise the follically challenged would have an advantage over those laden down with an overabundance of body hair

Elsewhere, the report suggests that the team shouldn't have trained at high altitude and outdoors in Italy ahead of the Games. Sochi's skating was indoors and at sea level, and it's thought that the altitude conditions masked a dip in form which would have otherwise been spotted. Also: those damn suits. Under Armor has yet to make a formal comment.

Excuses are like assholes. They all stink.

sure they do. but equipment matters when dealing with times of a split second.

training and equipment play a huge part if those parts are off it be bad. I was rather surprised to find they never tested the suits and got them just before the Olympics.

After reading the article, the headline should be. "US Speedskating: We had many problems, one of which was the suits,"
