You're admitting that your president's stimulus plan is crap :D

I'm in the middle of an area with county unemployment numbers ranging from 12% to 20%.

Headline of today's paper: United in Pain

Demand for homeless services up 85%
Requests for help from Crisis Assistance Ministry up 48%
Medicaid requests up 23%
Food Stamps up 39%

Sub-article title: Charities Face 'Catastrophic' Financial Picture as Demand for Services Soars

So don't take this personally:

Yeah and I live in a place where there is 4.6% unemployment. Through the first quarter of the year there were actually DECREASES in unemployment, it hit 4.2% in April. There are more jobs than people, housing prices increased 5% last year and this year. Home purchases are up. Auto purchases are up. Constructions booming. Etc etc.

If you live in an area that is economically collapsing and you dont have a job. MOVE.

No, that would require him to be saying that the unemployment rate was unchanged by the stimulus, or changed in a negligible manner.

The more the democrats keep telling themselves that the quicker thier majority will ceases to exist. You already have high ranking dems trying to protect and save their moderates. Thats why Obama's healthcare reform is getting ripped to shreds in the Senate and House. Thats why Congressional democrats are challenging the White House. The congressional Democrats know they can easily lose their moderates just like the Republicans lost their moderates.

It's going to be funny when Democrats lose their majority in 2 to 4 years because of people like you.

I have a feeling all of these self-righteous threads will be resurrected, to great comedic effect.

How do you afford to move to a new location without a job already in hand? Sure you can move and hope you find a job, but you could end up in the same situation in the new location and you are now out the cost of relocation and away from most/all your contacts, friends, and family.

Yes, damn the Republicans and their congressional majority in 2007 and 2008!

That's about as bogus a response I have ever heard.
The Republicans had an absolute majority for years.
And in 2007 and 2008 they could block any attempt to overturn the Bush debacle with a Bush veto or their filibusters.

Try being honest for change.

Weak majority 02-04, strong majoirt 04-06.

It doesn't matter how far in debt we get. We will just ask other countries for a bail out, we are too big to be allowed to fail !

Perhaps if we cut all these welfare programs and use the funds to reduce taxes like the economics textbooks suggest, we just might be able to get out of this recession.

Great idea.

Those people can just starve to death, and then they won't need jobs and then we'll be out of the recession!

1: Cut all benefits
2: People Starve/Freeze to death
3: ???
4: Profit!
