Breaking news on ABCNY

Not many details yet, ferries are heading to the crash scene for a possible rescue of survivor. Plane seems to be intact but sinking fast.

It is VERY VERY cold out here today and can imagine how cold the water is.

No details on injuries/survivors yet, but its being reported there were 135 on board

Update: Plane is almost fully submerged now except for the rear tail wing. Its an A320 Airbus

fucking US. just 2 days ago my colleages were on a US flight when the cabin door threw error codes (somethign about pressure) and they had to make emergency landing

The plane appears to be in one piece and passengers are being evaucated by rescue teams.

Officials tell CBS 2 the airplane is Flight 1549, an Airbus 380 that took off from La Guardia Aiport.

The plane is floating upright in the water near the USS Intrepid.

Airbus 380
?
Isn't that like the new big aircraft?

I didn't think anyone had it except Singapore.

This is horrible.

Actually, it seems it's not all that bad. Plane's upright, floating, lots of ships nearby. It's probably the best possible plane crash you could imagine.

It definitely is not an A380.

Its a smaller plane...

Not really. 43 degree waters = hypothermia within minutes. And outside air temps are below 20
