Go to START --- Run ---- type in DXDIAG......On the system tab it may tell you the speed...ON winxp it tells me but on my laptop with win98 it does not...

Doesn't intel boards have a jumper you have to move to get into the bios and change what little things you can. I have a feeling his parents knows how to get it back to normal. Maybe what happened is part of what was used to prevent him from playing games.
