Sounds good. I'll test out my new PSU and if I'm grossly underpowered, then I may return it.

Thanks again for all the help guys! I really really appreciate it all!
Cant wait to start building it all!

I would say the i5-2500k is fine and just drop in a Geforce 970. If you're not encoding videos then you don't need the cores. You yourself noted that even with the 100 tabs open cpu usage is still 20-30% and the only issue seems to be a little ram starvation. Large RAM sticks get extremely expensive very quickly (4x8 GB kits like $325-400+ vs $160 for 4x4).

I would be looking specifically at getting a boot SSD -- you have this so I would try installing it.

And as you game a faster GPU as 6870 ain't cutting it -- I'd recommend a Geforce 970 (Gigabyte or MSI), another $349.

If you are really RAM starved perhaps 32 GB ?? Sounds like all you really need is to drop in that Samsung 840 and upgrade the RAM.

edit-- perhaps a bit late as it seems you may have already purchased some stuff .... my opinion still stands tho

I already hit 20-40/50% CPU easily. Disk is an issue, but a SSD should fix some of that. Even on a brand new clean system, I was easily able to hit 40% CPU usage, without anything installed by opening a bunch of tabs on chrome. I have 20GB DDR31600 and I generally use 12-13GB, a few times I hit about 18GB and have to restart.

Hence, I mainly wanted to processor upgrade. Along with that, it seemed like a good time to upgrade. Hence, I got some new stuff, so I should I have no issues at all for the forseeable future. And then I can use my old box as a RAID Box or for backups.
Since I was doing that anyways.

If it's not too late...

The X61 gets you the cooling of the H110 with the features of the H100i and with better fans. That would be my recommendation.

you shouldn't need to reboot, just log off

@Escrow4 I should be good with 32GB, if I need more, I can always get 64.
@Xaiver, Unfortunately, Ive already got my parts.
@soccerballtux Interesting, I have to try this out.
