That's great.
I ordered something on the 28th of last month, second day air. (different company)
They shipped on the 30th thru Airborne express. Airborne got it to my city, then handed it off to USPS for the final delivery. (I'd never heard of such a thing). Even though it was scheduled to be here monday, Airborne cannot find it, nor has any way to track it thru USPS. That sucks! :(

u can't give all the credit to UPS. buy.com has a pretty good amount of warehouse located throughout the country. things that i buy from buy.com usually arrives within 1-2 days because they have a warehouse nearby. remember the questlink.com deal? i ordered a p3-600e and it shipped at like 8-9am in the morning and i received it 11-12pm that same day :) questlink has a warehouse like 5-10 minutes away from me but i gotta thank UPS for not wiating til the next day.

I've had positive experiences with UPS too... but the majority of the people on this board have detailed their bad experiences. And although I won't avoid using them, I'll always compare them to FedEx before I ship anything. If FedEx is cheaper, I'd go with them... but yeah, nothing but good experiences with UPS (except that hole in the box that I got my Antex SX1030b case in). Besides, they have the cooler corporate image in my opinion. Those brown trucks and uniforms are much easier to spot than the other companies.

Here's one bad one...I worked at a baseball card shop, and for as long as we sold cards we had no problem with ups. Then one summer, we get beanie babies in, and they manage to "lose" 5 packages?!?! What a joke.

Yeah, I've had ups deliver many items I've bought over the Internet (every single one in fact, 50-60 over 2 years), but the retail biz is a whole different ballgame.

How about this. I had a UPS deliveryman leave a package for me in my trashcan! :| I swear to god. I now have the local hub's phone number, which they won't give out (it's unlisted), after almost a dozen complaints about service. Every package that is sent to me, as soon as the tracking page says that it has reached the New Orleans hub, I give them a call to make sure they're doing a good job...keeps em on their toes ;) Now, I haven't had a single package sit at the NO hub for more than 8 hours (overnight), and the deliveryman (new one, I think I got the old one fired) actually rings my doorbell when there's a package for me, instead of leaving it on my porch or in my trashcan, or driving by and not stopping even though there's a package for me on the truck and it is obvious that I am home! :|

Did I mention that UPS (even though they are getting better...because I'm forcing them to) can rot in hell?

Well I use to work for them for almost 7years and we did everything to these package, from kickball to football. 747's make really nice fields. Oh and if it says fragile or do not bend it's free game. I'm sure that it's clamed down (lol) now but I will never send stuff UPS. Plus they've lost a couple of packages of mine for over2 weeks and still didn't want to payup. I guess someone scored that night I sent my package.

well that is certaily discouraging to think my packages are getting kicked around on purpose. I think UPS is f@!*ing WORLDS better than the totally useless US Postal Service. I lost track of haw many packages of mine they have lost. Thank god for companies like buy.com and amazon that replace them w/o a hassle.

UPS should be bombed...

I have had way more horror stories with UPS than I could fit in this forum.

I ordered some books from Amazon, they shipped on the 30th of last month. I paid for 2nd day air, & I got them yesterday (the 5th). There's something seriously wrong with that.

Yeah I order a computer way back 2nd day and got it a week after it was shipped. And for small stuff they charge way too much. I sent a video card to a place on the west coast from the east coast and it was 10 bucks, packaging not included. The people sent it back for some reason so I sent it again through us mail and they supplied the box for 3.70.

What Hoeboy said - I get my UPS ground packages in 1 day because the buy.com delivery center is 4 miles from my house.

Regarding the "fragile" and football activities involved @ UPS, that definetly still goes on. The more times "fragile" is stamped on the package, the rougher it gets wooped around. I worked in the area with loading trucks so there wasn't any football, but we did treat them pretty rough sometimes.

And in the 15 years I've been sending out mail, I've only had 1 lost letter/package w/ USPS. Never had problems with them.

Just another thing. The UPS and the work B**B doesn't seem to go that well together especially in this part of the season.
