Damn you consistency and sound logistical planning. Screw route planning. Why can't UPS drivers spin a giant wheel of randomness during their routes to choose which addresses to go to first.

It's all luck of the draw for where you fall in the route. Could have them hold your packages at the UPS center so you can pick them up.

Yeah, I was just making a joke. If their system is anything like fedex routing, the system usually routes them in an arc, start close and end close, you could be a few miles from the terminal and still not be scheduled till late in the day. Just depends on how the route get laid out that day.

The UPS drivers always told me that for "normal" shipping (not Air bills, not 2-day or red label) that they need to hit all the businesses first, then go to the residential routes.
Makes sense, since most places close at 5 PM.

Yeah, it would be much better if UPS threw logistics to the wind, and just catered to your needs. Ideally they would assassinate a few people on their route to really make sure nobody else uses their services, and UPS solely existed to deliver crap to you.

If I have it delivered to the store, which is in the same town, doesn't that mean the same delivery time?

FYI I'm 2 towns north of their hub, less than 2 mi. Work backwards once in a while, thank you.

Anyone get things before noon all the time from UPS? I'm sure those who are away at work couldn't care less.

(And how is delivery within their specified times, "less satisfactory"? When you go to a sporting event, do they give discounts depending on how far back you are in line?)

About the line question, that is your fault you got there later than everyone else. Paying the same amount for ground as the guy a few towns over, I am receiving worse service than others at no fault of my own. Next analogy.

I got a package today and tracking in ebay was UPS, yet it was handed to the post office. Cool for me I guess because it came at 10 AM. LOL!
