Sounds like someone works for UPS.
Considering I have not made a single biased statement, I don't know where you're coming from. I'm just trying to stop MISINFORMATION, that's all.

But seriously, yes, they ARE loud trucks
How many F'ing times do I have to say IMHO? Thanks for continuing this particular pointless arguement...

and b, who the hell cares if he was at home, it says delivered, to HIS address, and it's not, the fact that he was home is STILL a moot issue, even if he wasn't, it should NOT say delivered and signed for if HE did not recieve it and sign for it.
As stated before, if someone fraudulantly signed his name, then UPS will still say it went to the designated address. Sorry, but UPS, FedEx, and the USPS all work this way.

And being primarily ground doesn't change the fact that UPS sucks, if the reason they suck is because they are primarily ground, thats fine, they still suck. Telling me WHY something sucks doesn't make it cease to suck any longer.
I don't know about that. Is it fair to say UPS's Air services "suck" because people don't like getting ground packages? Not really. It's a shame that UPS Air automatically gets a bad image on ATOT because of the problems some people here had with the ground service. Oh, and for the record, UPS Ground DOESN'T suck btw. Why do you think UPS continues to rape FedEx badly in just about every field? If UPS Ground sucked, companies like Dell and IBM wouldn't trust it for their computers. At this point I would like to point out that UPS Ground is now guaranteed to residential addresses. I don't see FedEx Ground making these kinds of guarantees. Maybe because they can't?

The fact is, ground service is ground service and you get what you pay for.

They said people all the time would throw package, kick them, hit them, throw them to each other that said "fragile". Said people would all the time intentionally just trash package and shake them. Apparently none of the facility managers did anything about it.

Lets see...i believe my friends over you. They both say stay the hell away from UPS as much as possible.

At this point, it does indeed to be UPS fault. If they did not physically go to the right place and knock on the door, it is their fault. If they let someone standing out around outside an APARTMENT Bulding, that's just stupid. Anyone could be standing out there. If they just simply took it to the wrong address and someone lied and signed for it....UPS fault.

Tell UPS they owe you another C-Note for your "UPS is the greatest ever" reply to this message :D
What crap am I making up? Again, I'm just trying to stop misinformation. If someone honestly die-hardly thinks UPS is the devil and doesn't want to ship with them, they don't have to! I don't care! But, when they come here spouting their mouths without backing themselves up with facts (I'm not referring to you in particular), I have a problem It's unfortunate that that particular nashville hub acts that way. The only thing I can say is that UPS isn't like that everywhere and FedEx and the USPS are not immune to this kind of problem. Also, I happen to disagree with your opinion the issue at hand. I guess that means I won't be getting a 10 feedback rating from you

<<I guess that means I won't be getting a 10 feedback rating from you >> Eh your ratings dont matter to me, i've never rated anyone on this board. No biggy.

Here's what i'm wondering. Exactly what "misinformation has he spread?

" called UPS immediatly and they have my correct shipping address, but have "no way of knowing where it was actually delivered" until at least tomorrow. How the hell!?""

UPS confirmed the address. They show someone signing. But they have no way of knowing where it's delivered?

I'd be pissed as hell too if my 2,600 laptop was lost

All this bashing is just silly.. Both carriers had the mind set of delivering packages successfully.. unfortunately mistakes are made by everyone...

Well heres something ive found a while back on some other forums... fedexsux.com

I use both carriers.. but I refuse to ship via fedex ground

Here's what i'm wondering. You accused me of spreading crap, and when I call you out on it, you don't back yourself up. Nice.

In the case of AgentZap's post, it was/is lack of information which brought upon a negative view of UPS. That and misinformation are just as unfair. MazerRackham's post and El Fenix's first post would be considered misinformation by me IMHO. Oh, and if it turns out to be lost/UPS's fault, then he isn't necessarily out $2600. Dell insures their packages.

AgentZap, It wasn't a triple post genius. Check the post times.

I'm done with this thread, PAB sums it up nicely in his thread

I'm sorry, i figured you didn't need a reply to that. Did you actually read my post. Here' s what i said, and here's my "back up"

<<PowerMac4Ever - so how much is UPS paying you to make this crap up about them? >> Boy you don't read sarcasm real well and can't take a joke? Do you really also want me to "back up" my theory on UPS paying you? geeez. Intelligence running rampid around here. :)

About this so called "misinformation"

ElFenix and MazerRackhamer stated what is called an OPINION. They both stated that UPS sucks. No where do i see any misinformation. Elfenix did state he knew a warehouse manager and what this person said. This is what is called - 2nd hand information. I too have friends who used to work for UPS and stated the same things that his friend stated. This is not "misinformation" either. I still don't see where anyone produced any "misinformation" or said anything other than an opinion which we are all allowed to have. Thats all i was saying. Which you still haven't "backed up" the misinformation in this thread. Just pointed fingers.

Of course he isn't out $2,600. I think you're missing the point that he's as excited as a kid at christmas waiting by the window for the UPS man to pull up with his brand new toy like freaking Saint Nick! Now UPS doesnt know where it is, doesn't have any information of actual point of delivery, and its saying "delivered" and someone "signed for it".

I noticed in your thread that Dell also screwed up your order. Maybe they didn't have your address listed correctly?

Also, PowerMacG4. Yes, your right maybe AgentZap is not out of $2,600 BUT you have to consider the inconvience. If it was a $10 part I might not be too mad but at $2,600 you better believe I would be mad too if it didn't show up on time.

Here is my UPS experience.

My driver does not ring my door bell at all. AT ALL. EVERYTIME I have a package my delivery guy will just drop the package at my doorstep and leave. Last time I opened the door right in the middle of the delivery guy plopping my package at my doorstep. Boy was he embarassed. He picked the package back up and handed it to me...lol. Also IMHO UPS trucks are loud. They are equivalent to trash trucks in my area.

If UPS is a primarily ground based shipping company, then I really feel sorry for them. FedEx Ground is a much better service in terms of on time delivery, package care, and pricing.

As an example, a 50 pound box with the dimensions of 26x26x26 from New Jersey to California with $2500 Insurance - FedEx Ground: $39.61 UPS Ground: $59.68.

After shipping numerous computers, speakers, and monitors all across the country using FedEx Ground; this is all just my opinion (except for the pricing part) :D. I am a loyal FedEx customer to put it bluntly.

If you dont like the service from UPS or FedEx, and not willing to trust someone to deliver your packages....

1.) Get in your own car and deliver it yourself
2.) Start your own shipping company

But anyways, in this case in the ORIGINAL post, yes, UPS driver at fault. And yes, you can hear the truck commin down the road...

I had the same thing happen to me last Friday, minus the "delivered and signed" part.. they said they attempted to make a delivery at 9:14AM or so.. I was up at 7AM, downstairs (where the computer is right next to the door), and waiting there while browsing, doing work, etc.. and UPS never made an attempt to deliver it. Called them after I found out about it by checking my tracking number and they said I had no way of getting it until Tuesday. Sucked soo much, but atleast my monitor was in one piece..

And I ordered from Dell too.. :|

Ok so I call UPS today and this is the summarized convo...

Me: You lost my package. where is it?
UPS: Ah heh oops looks like we delivered it a few streets over <like it is no big deal>
Me: How the (*&@* does that happen?
UPS: Eh people make mistakes.
Me: I see
UPS: We will put in a misdelivery notice and someone will call you monday.

--
If the package is opened I won't even accept it. The thing that really pisses me off is how someone who receives the package doesn't look on the box and notice it is the address of a neighbor and bring it to their house. That really angers me. I have their address now too. <evil grin>

every single UPS driver I can remember (with the exception of *one*) has been a lazy, lying, SOB. They've lied above stopping by my residencies when they really didn't, they never ring the fuggin doorbell, they've never been careful handling my packages, etc...the complaints could go on forever. And with the exception of that one driver, they've all been rude too.

I've noticed the same with UPS around here, and where I used to live.
