upgrading OEM PC i need help??

Ok im upgrading my oem compaq Presario SR5333WM Desktop PC.
im upgrading it so i can play FSX on high with noooo lagginess.
here is what i have. if i have to much or to less give me some suggestions please:

1. GIGABYTE GA-MA770-UD3 AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard

2. ASUS EN9500GT TOP/DI/512M GeForce 9500 GT 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

3. APEVIA ATX-CW500WP4 500W ATX Power Supply

4. AMD Phenom 8450 Toliman 2.1GHz Socket AM2+ 95W Triple-Core Processor Model HD8450WCGHBOX

5. 3 gigs of ddr2 ram
and i using arctic silver 5 thermal compound.

any suggestions??? it'd be much appreciated.

Honestly, at this point, just buy a case and be done with it. You aren't reusing anything except the drives it looks like, so you really are better off just building fresh.

Unless you are just on an extreme budget, I'd go for a Core2Duo or Core2Quad. the AMD these days arent what they used to be.

EXTREME!!!!! budget.

Sorry, but I completely missed that connection. The Core 2s are generally considered to be much better bang for your buck than the Phenoms, so I would side with RadiclDreamer and advise that you look into a Core 2 system, maybe with the p45 chipset.

alright guys thanks found a good gigabyte intel mobo and 2.5 ghz processor for a good price on newegg will probably OC

My apology was towards the fact that I missed that he was talking about AMD, and intel is a better choice right now.

The all caps EXTREME!!!!! is mostly just an inside joke for me and my friends. We like the PowerThirst commercial a little too much.

That sounds awfully similar to what my setup is. I got the e5200 off newegg and was able to OC it to 3.25GHz with no problems at all.

My only complaint about my existing system is that i only have 4 SATA ports to use, but I got the mobo new off ebay for less than $70, so it works out in the end.
