Honestly, at this point, just buy a case and be done with it. You aren't reusing anything except the drives it looks like, so you really are better off just building fresh.

Unless you are just on an extreme budget, I'd go for a Core2Duo or Core2Quad. the AMD these days arent what they used to be.

EXTREME!!!!! budget.

Sorry, but I completely missed that connection. The Core 2s are generally considered to be much better bang for your buck than the Phenoms, so I would side with RadiclDreamer and advise that you look into a Core 2 system, maybe with the p45 chipset.

Meant extremely small budget, was working at the time and left out a few words, sorry 😉

My apology was towards the fact that I missed that he was talking about AMD, and intel is a better choice right now.

The all caps EXTREME!!!!! is mostly just an inside joke for me and my friends. We like the PowerThirst commercial a little too much.

alright guys thanks found a good gigabyte intel mobo and 2.5 ghz processor for a good price on newegg will probably OC

That sounds awfully similar to what my setup is. I got the e5200 off newegg and was able to OC it to 3.25GHz with no problems at all.

My only complaint about my existing system is that i only have 4 SATA ports to use, but I got the mobo new off ebay for less than $70, so it works out in the end.
